The 2026 Tour de France Femmes reaches its decisive finale in Nice, where the last two stages will determine the winner of the prestigious yellow jersey. Scheduled for Saturday, August 8, and Sunday, August 9, the final weekend promises intense racing and thrilling action until the finish line.

After starting in Lausanne and tackling iconic climbs, including the legendary Mont Ventoux, the fifth edition of the women’s race heads to the French Riviera for a dramatic conclusion that could completely reshape the general classification.

Stage 8: From Sisteron to Nice via the Route Napoléon

The penultimate stage begins in Sisteron and covers 171.9 kilometers along the historic Route Napoléon. Riders will face a demanding course designed to encourage attacks and create significant time gaps before the final day.

The finish line will be located on the famous Promenade des Anglais, near the Théâtre de Verdure, where the overall contenders could gain a crucial advantage.

Stage 9: Four Ascents of Col d’Eze to Decide the Tour

The final stage promises even greater excitement. Starting from Place Masséna, the peloton will tackle a 100-kilometer circuit around Nice.

The route includes four climbs of Col d’Eze and the challenging ascent of Vinaigrier, making it an ideal terrain for decisive attacks and last-minute changes in the overall standings.

Once again, the finish will be on the Promenade des Anglais, where the 2026 Tour de France Femmes champion may be decided by only a few seconds.

Nice Celebrates Women’s Cycling

Beyond the race itself, Nice will host a full weekend of celebrations dedicated to cycling fans, families, and visitors.

The Jardin Albert 1er will become the heart of the event, featuring a free fan zone open on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visitors will enjoy giant screens broadcasting the race live, cycling activities, entertainment, acrobatic performances, workshops, and DJ sets throughout the day.

Adding to the spectacle, the Patrouille de France will perform a flyover at the start of the final stage.

Awards Ceremony and Traffic Restrictions

The Théâtre de Verdure will also host the official awards ceremony, where the winner of the 2026 Tour de France Femmes will be crowned before thousands of cycling fans from across Europe.

As expected for a major international sporting event, traffic restrictions and temporary road closures will be in place across Nice during both stages.
