In just a few days, TFG returns to full swing, offering a vibrant succession of talents, languages and artistic visions that speak directly to our times. A bold and inspiring spring season, where theatre becomes satire, political reflection, liberating laughter and embodied poetry.

The programme opens with J’aurais voulu être Jeff Bezos, presented as part of the Régions en Scène Festival, a major showcase for regional artistic excellence. A satirical, festive and incisive cabaret, the piece playfully takes on the figure of Jeff Bezos, exposing—without moralising—the excesses of contemporary technological and economic power. A press favourite at the 2024 Avignon Festival, it captivates with its intelligence, rhythm and daring tone.

The journey continues with a powerful and visually striking production: 1984, adapted by Collectif 8 from the visionary novel by George Orwell. Theatre and digital visual arts combine to explore themes of surveillance, manipulation of information and the erosion of freedoms, issues that feel more urgent than ever today. The daytime performances are open to all audiences, not exclusively school groups.

Laughter then takes centre stage with Craquage by Marion Mezadorian. Recently awarded an Auguste for humour writing, the artist delivers a brilliant and deeply human solo performance, inhabited by unforgettable characters. Hilarious, moving and cathartic, the show releases long-suppressed voices and creates an immediate bond with the audience.

Echoing the Printemps des Poètes, the month concludes with Et maintenant, j’attends, a delicate encounter between poetry, music and performance. Poet and performer Sabine Venaruzzo, joined by Daniel Mille and Éric Longsworth, brings her poetic universe to life through accordion and cello. A moment of rare sensitivity, celebrating freedom, fraternity and humanity.

And that’s not all. Alongside the programme for adults and teenagers, TFG also offers shows for young audiences, blending theatre, puppetry, shadow play and circus arts. A carefully curated and generous programme, designed to delight the whole family.

With the Régions en Scène Festival, taking place on 3 and 4 March across several cultural venues in Nice and the surrounding area, audiences are invited to discover the very best of regional creation, in a spirit of openness and exchange between artists, professionals and the public.

The Théâtre Francis-Gag thus reaffirms itself as a vibrant, open and essential cultural space, where theatre continues to question the present, surprise audiences and spark lasting emotion.
