To commemorate the Holy Year 2025, the Principality has issued a postage stamp featuring the logo of the “Pilgrims of Hope” Jubilee.
H.E. Mr. Philippe ORENGO, Ambassador of the Principality to the Holy See, had the privilege, on December 18, to personally present to His Holiness Pope Francis a triptych made for His intention. This triptych contains the stamp, the “first day of issue” stamped envelope, and a block of 10 stamps with illuminations, bearing the mention “Holy Year 2025 declared by Pope Francis.” Also presented was a special high philately insert symbolically numbered 2025, containing a copy of this stamp as well as examples of the stamps issued for the Holy Year 2000, depicting the Twelve Apostles.
Through this gesture, Monaco wished to express to the Holy Father the Principality’s strong attachment to this significant moment in the life of the Church, as Monaco has Catholicism as its state religion.
