The 93rd edition of the Monte-Carlo Rally, which kicks off the 2025 World Rally Championship, begins today and will feature 18 special stages for a total of 343.80 km of timed sections, all on asphalt. The rally headquarters are in Gap, where the shakedown will take place this afternoon on Route de la Garde (3.28 km), starting at 16:01.
January 23: The Official Start
The traditional start will take place on Thursday, January 23, at 14:30 from the Place du Casino in Monte Carlo, with the first leg covering 54.16 km of timed stages, including three night stages in the Alpes de Haute Provence and Hautes Alpes departments: Digne les Bains-Chaudon-Norante (19.01 km), Faucon du Caire-Bréziers (21.18 km), and Avançon-Notre Dame du Laus (13.97 km).
January 24: Six Special Stages
On Friday, January 24, the second leg will take place, covering 107.34 km of timed stages spread over six special stages: Saint Maurice-Aubessagne (18.68 km), Saint Léger les Mélèzes-La Bâtie Neuve (16.68 km), and La Bréole-Selonnet (18.31 km), each repeated twice.
January 25: The Toughest and Longest Day
On Saturday, January 25, the third leg will be the longest, with 131.40 km of timed stages, featuring six special stages, including two repeated stages of La Motte Chalancon-Saint Nazaire le Désert (27.00 km), the new stage of Aucelon-Recoubeau Jansac (20.85 km), and La Bâtie des Fonts-Aspremont (17.85 km).
January 26: The Final Leg and Awards Ceremony
Once again, drivers will spend Saturday night in Gap, where the final leg, Gap-Monaco, will start, covering 50.90 km of timed stages, including three special stages: Avançon-Notre Dame du Laus (13.97 km), Digne les Bains-Chaudon-Norante (19.01 km), and the final power stage in Turini, La Bollène Vésubie-Peïra Cava (17.92 km), with the awards ceremony scheduled for 16:15 at the Place du Casino.
The Monte-Carlo Rally will feature 70 entries. Among them, 10 new Rally 1 cars (non-hybrid): 5 Toyota Yaris with Evans, Ogier, Rovanperä, Katsuta, and Pajari; 3 Hyundai i20s with Neuville, Tanak, and Fourmaux; and 2 Ford Puma for Munster and McErlean. Among the 39 Rally 2 cars, notable entries include Oliver Solberg’s Toyota Yaris Rally 2, Gryazin’s and Daprà’s Skoda Fabias, the Rossel brothers’ Citroen C2s, and Camilli’s Hyundai.
