On Wednesday, August 13th, Cannes La Bocca will come alive with colors and flowers for the Saint-Barthélemy Flower Parade, an event that officially kicks off the Saint-Barthélemy Patronal Festival. The parade, taking place at 9 PM on Avenue Francis Tonner, will be dedicated to the memory of Jean-Paul Guitton, a historic float decorator and beloved figure in the neighborhood.
The Flower Floats
Six floats inspired by famous movies and TV series will be the stars of the parade, accompanied by 143 artists, including musicians and dancers. The floats will be adorned with over 12,000 flowers and 1,800 stems of foliage, crafted by six master florists from the Cannes-Grasse region.
Float Themes
The floats will be inspired by:
– “Marcel et Monsieur Pagnol”
– “His Dark Materials”
– “Alice Through the Looking Glass”
– “Canneseries”
– “House of the Dragon”
– “C’est la vie”
Free Admission
Admission to the event is free, so everyone can attend and enjoy the flower float parade. The Mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard, emphasized the importance of this event for the La Bocca community and thanked the master florists and artists who worked to create the parade.
