New Photographic Exhibition by the Photon Collective at Espace Magnan in Nice

At Espace Magnan in Nice – a well-known venue for Italian cinema – a new photographic exhibition curated by the Photon collective will be open to visitors until the end of May.

The exhibition brings together works by about twenty photographers from the association, alongside pieces created by students from its internal photography school. With over thirty active members, Photon has long been committed to promoting local photography and accessible art, organizing more than 450 exhibitions in public spaces and key cultural locations throughout the French Riviera.

This new group show focuses on the Mediterranean Sea – and oceans more broadly – as an endless source of inspiration and reflection. It is part of a larger cultural program currently taking place in the city of Nice, which hosts eleven exhibitions on the theme of the oceans.

Beyond its aesthetic value, the exhibition also conveys a strong ecological message: a call to protect our natural marine heritage by celebrating water’s beauty, fragility, and essential role.

The official opening is scheduled for Thursday, May 16 at 7:00 p.m., with free admission. Following this, at 8:00 p.m., there will be a ticketed theatrical performance that blends images from the exhibition with live music and contemporary dance. The show, created by Paris-based artist Sameur Djirai in collaboration with Photon, combines guitar, cello, and expressive movement in a visual and emotional interpretation inspired by the marine world.
