Mobility is a central issue for quality of life and the attractiveness of Monaco.
Several concrete actions undertaken in recent months demonstrate the Government’s commitment to sustainably improving transport conditions in the Principality.

Salines Car Park Put to the Test During the Grand Prix
The recent Grand Prix provided a real-world test of the deployed measures. The Salines car park reached a 93% occupancy rate on the busiest days, with 1,662 vehicles present on the day of the race. The new online booking platform recorded over 500 reservations per day throughout the weekend. These figures confirm the relevance of the facility, its successful adoption by users, and the effectiveness of the digital tools implemented.

Rail: The Backbone of Decarbonised Mobility
The train remains the main decarbonised public transport mode to and from the Principality, and the Government is closely monitoring the commitments of the Sud Azur operator. In 2025, the number of trains stopping at Monaco increased to 124 per weekday and over 140 per day on weekends, compared to 95 previously. This increase is accompanied by enhanced capacity and extended operating hours. The Principality is working closely with both national and regional French authorities on this matter and continues to invest: two additional trainsets will be put into service starting in 2027.

Urban Transport: Services Gaining Momentum
The CAM network continues to develop. In 2024, ridership exceeded 7.6 million passengers, up 4% compared to 2023. Express lines are becoming firmly established in daily use, as is the ClicBus service, which meets targeted and complementary needs. Contactless payment has become widespread, with nearly 970,000 validations in 2024. The electric bus fleet is being rolled out: by the end of 2025, all regular lines will be served by 100% electric buses. This momentum is also reflected in the growing use of the self-service bike system. The MonaBike service hit a record high in May 2025 with 82,048 trips made—a 43% increase compared to May 2024. This figure surpasses the previous record set in July 2024, highlighting the growing success of active mobility in the Principality.

Traffic Regulation: Launch of a ZTL Test in the Summer
A Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) trial will be launched in summer 2025. This project, currently under development by State services, aims to better control traffic flows across the territory to preserve residents’ quality of life while maintaining the Principality’s appeal. Full details will be announced in the coming weeks.

The concerns of residents and commuters are also those of the Government, which remains fully committed to advancing mobility in Monaco with high standards, a methodical approach, and a strong service ethic.
