Menton Inaugurates the Fossan Beach Library: Free Reading by the Sea Until 29 August 2026

The city of Menton has officially inaugurated the new edition of its Fossan Beach Library, a summer cultural initiative that transforms the Esplanade Francis Palmero seaside area into an open-air reading space dedicated to relaxation and literature. The opening ceremony took place on 1 July 2026, in the presence of the Deputy Mayor for Culture Éric Eche.

The initiative will run until 29 August 2026, offering residents and visitors a free cultural experience that combines sea, reading and leisure.

Menton Beach Library: a cultural project open to everyone

The Beach Library is one of the most popular summer initiatives in Menton, designed to make reading accessible in a relaxed and scenic seaside setting.

The collection includes a wide range of materials such as:

• novels and contemporary fiction
• comics and graphic novels
• documentaries and non-fiction books
• manga and children’s literature

Visitors can read directly on the beach or borrow books to continue reading at home.

The Menton Beach Library is open as follows:

• Tuesday to Saturday
• 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
• 2:30 PM – 6:30 PM
• Closed on Sundays and Mondays

The service runs throughout the summer season until 29 August 2026.
