Coordination and Monitoring Committee for the National Strategy to Combat Money Laundering

The members of the first Board of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee for the National Strategy to Combat Money Laundering, the Financing of Terrorism, the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction and Corruption met on Wednesday, 12 November, under the chairmanship of the Minister of State.

On this occasion, the Minister of State expressed his gratitude to the authorities and services for the quality of their work and their continued involvement since the beginning of the monitoring process, noting that significant progress has continued to be made since Monaco transmitted its first progress report to the FATF.

These developments were officially acknowledged at the international level with the adoption of the Principality’s second report during the most recent FATF plenary meeting in October 2025, attended by a Monegasque delegation.

They include:

  • the sustained increase in international requests to identify and, where appropriate, seize criminal assets abroad,

  • the strengthening of human and technical resources of the Monegasque Financial Security Authority,

  • the recruitment of three magistrates to the Public Prosecutor’s Office,

  • as well as strong results in asset seizures involving property suspected of criminal origin.

The significant efforts undertaken by the Principality have made it possible to complete numerous actions in its Action Plan, some of which have been considered largely addressed ahead of schedule compared to the timetable set in June 2024.

The Committee meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the preparation of the third progress report, which will soon be submitted to the FATF, as well as the future milestones awaiting Monaco.

In this context, the services and authorities were invited to maintain their commitment.
