The Rules of Good Manners in Modern Society is an ironic, funny, and rhythmic text inspired by a manual of manners written in 1889 by Baroness de Staffe. Jean-Luc Lagarce amuses himself, in the early 1980s, by commenting on this work, adding paraphrases or comments with a precious subtlety. “I am trying to make resonate what every rule can have of obscene in life. I believe that we are in a period where there is talk again of a French tradition, of a France of steeples (…) and I think that hearing this text and its very strong, biting irony shakes up this landscape, and that’s good.” Catherine Hiegel – France Culture Then, in Music-Hall, the actress surrounds herself with her “boys” to confide the feelings and anxieties of an artist. A plunge into the heart of the world of entertainment.
