Jazz under the Stars in Nice: Jazz Art Lympia returns on the portside terrace

Nice’s summer evenings continue to come alive with Jazz Art Lympia, the beloved series that transforms the panoramic terrace of the Espace Culturel Départemental Lympia into an open-air jazz club. Launched on July 17, the festival runs until August 28, offering free concerts every Thursday night that explore jazz in all its forms—classic standards, soulful improvisations, funky grooves, and Brazilian rhythms.

It’s a must for jazz lovers and anyone seeking a refined cultural experience in one of Nice’s most enchanting spots: the port, glowing at sunset. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., concerts begin at 8:00 p.m..

• Thursday, July 24 – Jazzaccords Quartet
  Elegant arrangements of jazz classics, soundtracks, and Brazilian themes in a refined blend of melody and improvisation.

• Thursday, July 31 – Arnoïse Jazz Project
  A high-voltage trio blending funk, fusion, and electric jazz. A tribute to Chick Corea, Miles Davis, and Herbie Hancock.

• Thursday, August 7 – Pounkipa Jazz Quartet
  Jazz meets pop-rock with creative reworks of iconic songs by the Beatles, David Bowie, and more.

• Thursday, August 14 – Leila Mac Avoy Quartet
  From Nina Simone to Billie Holiday, a soulful, emotional performance led by the warm voice of Leila Mac Avoy.

• Thursday, August 21 – Glam’Jazz
  Swing, bossa nova, and vintage flair in a glamorous night celebrating jazz from the Gatsby era to the 1960s.

• Thursday, August 28 – Ronnie Rae Project
  A dazzling finale honoring Scottish jazz pianist Ronnie Rae Jr, blending British tradition and modern improvisation.
