The city of Menton is preparing to host one of its most meaningful traditional celebrations: the Fête de la Saint-Pierre 2026, taking place on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5, 2026. This weekend-long event is dedicated to Saint Peter, the patron saint of fishermen, and combines religious ceremonies, maritime processions, live music, water-based activities and popular festivities open to both locals and visitors.

Organized by the Municipality of Menton together with local associations, the celebration is a key cultural event that highlights the city’s deep historical connection to the sea and fishing.


A festival rooted in maritime identity and historical memory

The Fête de la Saint-Pierre in Menton aims to preserve and showcase the city’s maritime heritage and the central role fishing has played in its social and economic history. The event also pays tribute to fishermen lost at sea (“Péris en mer”).

Religious processions, boat blessings and memorial ceremonies are combined with festive activities, creating a unique blend of spirituality, remembrance and entertainment.

Saturday, July 4, 2026: seaside entertainment and music

The first day takes place mainly in the Sablettes area and along the harbor.

  • 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Splash Party at Les Sablettes
    Water activities and DJ sets with DJ JulienNSR. Inflatable water games available (reservation required).

    Electronic music set by DJ Bassner, resident DJ at Tomorrowland Winter, bringing a vibrant seaside atmosphere.

Sunday, July 5, 2026: religious ceremonies and sea procession

The second day is dedicated to traditional celebrations honoring Saint Peter.

  • 9:30 AM | Departure of the Saint Peter statue
    From the Basilica of Saint-Michel-Archange, marking the beginning of the solemn day.
  • 10:00 AM | Solemn Mass
    Official religious service.
  • 11:30 AM | Procession to the Fishermen’s Memorial
    A tribute ceremony for fishermen lost at sea (“Péris en mer”).
  • 11:45 AM | Wreath-laying ceremony
    In the presence of local groups including La Musique de La Garde, La Capeline, La Mentonnaise, and Anciens de la Place du Cap.
  • 12:00 PM | Blessing of the boats
    The procession continues toward the Vieux-Port and Menton-Garavan harbor for the traditional blessing of fishing and leisure boats.
  • 12:30 PM | Official city aperitif
    Offered by the Municipality of Menton at the Vieux-Port harbor area.
  • 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Splash Party at Les Sablettes (day 2)
    Second day of water activities with DJ JulienNSR. Online reservation required for inflatable attractions.
