The City of Monaco has announced two major end-of-year events dedicated to the Académie Rainier III, placing its theatre and music students at the heart of the Principality’s cultural scene. Two gala evenings, scheduled for 27 May and 24 June 2026, will offer the public a unique opportunity to discover the talent of the next generation through high-level theatrical and musical performances.
Both events are free of charge upon reservation, reflecting Monaco’s commitment to accessible culture and the development of young artistic talent.
The first event will take place on Wednesday 27 May 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Théâtre Princesse Grace on Avenue d’Ostende in Monaco. The Theatre Department Gala will feature students from two training cycles, presenting performances of strong artistic and social significance.
Cycle I students will stage excerpts from Le monde du silence gueule by Julia Duchaussoy, an original work that gives voice to ocean inhabitants through comedic theatre. The play addresses marine pollution and ecosystem preservation with both irony and sensitivity.
Cycle II students will perform Cendrillon by Joël Pommerat, in an adaptation by Catherine Lefebvre, a theatre instructor at the Académie. This contemporary reinterpretation of the classic fairy tale explores adulthood, memory, and loss through a poetic and emotionally rich narrative.
The second gala will take place on Wednesday 24 June 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, in the Salle Prince Pierre. The evening will be dedicated to the Music Department and will feature a program focused on jazz aesthetics in a symphonic setting.
The concert will open with four advanced soloists from the academy performing alongside the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, offering a journey through a century of musical history.
Pianist Shani Diluka, artist in residence at Académie Rainier III, will lead a special project bringing together her piano and chamber music class with students from the piano department, highlighting the dialogue between education and professional performance.
The second part of the evening will feature a multidisciplinary artistic experience combining tap dance rhythms, operatic vocal performance, and instrumental ensembles, culminating in a grand finale involving all orchestras and ensembles of the academy.
Both evenings are free of charge but require advance booking by emailing academie@mairie.mc, including name, surname, and number of seats requested. Tickets are non-nominative and seating is unassigned.
The performance is expected to last approximately two hours for the theatre gala and two and a half hours for the music gala.
