The members of the Scientific Council for Statistics and Economic Studies met on Monday, July 14 at the Ministry of State under the chairmanship of Professor Pierre DUBOIS.

During this session, Alexandre BUBBIO, Director of IMSEE, presented the work carried out within the Institute, such as:

  • The new price per square metre index for real estate;

  • The results of the 2024 ESPAD survey;

  • The Population Census;

  • Ongoing and upcoming projects, including the Tourism Survey, the update of the study on the gender pay gap, and the transition to NAF 2025.

During this 17th meeting, Council members shared their areas of concern and proposed new ways to strengthen the Principality’s statistical system.

The meeting concluded with a speech by Mr. Marc VASSALLO, Secretary General of the Government, who praised the members’ commitment and the work of IMSEE, which provides reliable indicators to better understand the Principality, monitor its developments, and anticipate future challenges.

At the end of the session, the members of the Scientific Council were received by Mrs. Isabelle BERRO-AMADEI, Acting Minister of State, for a working lunch.

The Scientific Council for Statistics and Economic Studies has an advisory role to the Minister of State, who guarantees its independence. It provides opinions particularly on studies to be conducted, the state of the statistical system, and the annual survey programme. Its 11 members come from civil society, assemblies, and the administration.
