Défi Rose Menton 2026: 5 km for breast cancer prevention

Menton turns pink for Octobre Rose

As part of Octobre Rose, the international campaign dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer prevention and screening, Menton is once again hosting the Défi Rose.

The event reaches its 10th edition in 2026 and will take place on Sunday 18 October at the Esplanade des Sablettes, with a morning dedicated to sport, solidarity and information.

The event is organised by the City of Menton together with the Centre Communal d’Action Sociale (CCAS), with all registration proceeds going to the Ligue contre le cancer des Alpes-Maritimes.

A 5 km course and walk for everyone

The heart of the Défi Rose is a 5-kilometre route designed to be accessible to participants with different levels of fitness.

There is no need to be an experienced runner: participants can complete the route by running or walking, choosing their own pace.

Starts will be staggered between 9:00 and 9:30 am, allowing participants to enjoy the course without the pressure of a competitive race.

The main goal is to take part in a charity event while helping raise awareness of breast cancer prevention and screening.

Village Rose: information and prevention

Alongside the sporting event, the Village Rose will be set up at the Esplanade des Sablettes, creating a space dedicated to information and prevention.

Visitors will be able to meet professionals and explore the various stands, with opportunities to gather information, ask questions and learn more about breast cancer prevention and screening tools and services.

The Village Rose therefore adds an important educational dimension to the event, complementing physical activity with awareness and information.

Warm-up, flashmob and Zumba Party

The Défi Rose programme goes beyond the 5 km route.

The morning will feature several activities designed to involve participants and create a lively, inclusive atmosphere, including a group warm-up, a flashmob and a Zumba Party.

Sport and entertainment will help convey the central message of Octobre Rose: highlighting the importance of prevention and screening and encouraging greater awareness of breast health.

A €10 registration fee to support cancer prevention

Taking part in the Défi Rose also means making a direct contribution to the cause supported by the event.

The registration fee is €10, and the entire amount will be donated to the Ligue contre le cancer des Alpes-Maritimes (Ligue contre le cancer 06).

Participants can therefore turn a morning of sport and togetherness into an act of solidarity, supporting the organisation’s work and helping promote a culture of prevention.
