Hampel Fine Art Auctions in Monaco: From Titian to Anish Kapoor, the Great Masters of European Art

The Principality of Monaco is preparing to welcome an important selection of artworks from the upcoming auction of Hampel Fine Art Auctions, the prestigious auction house based in Munich. From September 14 to 16, 2026, the Hartford Fine Art – Lampronti Gallery, located at 21 boulevard Princesse Charlotte, will host a preview designed for collectors, art enthusiasts and professionals in the international art market.

The journey continues with some of the most celebrated images of Italian cities, including Canaletto’s Venetian views and the architectural and urban scenes of 18th-century Rome depicted by Giovanni Paolo Panini.

Together, these works provide a fascinating portrait of Italian and European painting, highlighting artists and genres that have played a major role in the history of international collecting.

Modern art: Pissarro, Feininger and Nolde

The journey through European art history continues with a selection devoted to 20th-century and modern art.

The artists represented include Camille Pissarro, Gustave Loiseau, Lyonel Feininger and Emil Nolde, each representing different moments in the development of European painting, from Impressionism and the study of light to the artistic experiments of modernism.

A particular highlight is Emil Nolde’s “Flower Garden”, signed and dated 1926, which showcases the expressive power and vibrant colour of the German artist’s work.

This section illustrates the transformation of European artistic language, from traditional approaches to landscape and light to the formal experimentation that characterised the 20th century.

Anish Kapoor and Anselm Kiefer: contemporary art takes centre stage

The exhibition concludes with a section dedicated to contemporary art, featuring two internationally renowned figures: Anselm Kiefer and Anish Kapoor.

Their presence expands the exhibition beyond historical and modern painting, creating a dialogue between the artistic heritage represented by the Old Masters and contemporary artistic research.

The choice also reflects Hampel’s international approach to the art market, with the auction house active across numerous fields of collecting.

Two days of free expert appraisals in Monaco

The Monaco event will offer more than the opportunity to view works selected for the upcoming auction.

On September 15 and 16, 2026, Hampel specialists will host two Expert Appraisal Days, giving collectors and private owners the opportunity to submit artworks and collectables for a free, confidential and non-binding appraisal.

It is a valuable opportunity for anyone wishing to learn more about the author, provenance, historical period or potential market interest of a work in their possession.

The exhibition will officially open on Monday, September 14 at 7 p.m. with a presentation cocktail at Hartford Fine Art – Lampronti Gallery.

The preview will remain open through September 16, ahead of Hampel’s next auction scheduled to take place in Munich on September 24, 2026.
