Dante Alighieri Monaco: the 2026

The Società Dante Alighieri – Monaco Committee is preparing to launch its new 2026–2027 cultural season with a diverse programme focusing on the relationship between tradition and innovation, memory and the future, art and science.

Throughout the season, conferences, theatrical performances, film screenings, musical events and meetings with leading figures from the worlds of culture, science and the arts will offer new perspectives on Italian heritage and its role in contemporary society.

The central theme of the programme is “Italy in Dialogue Between Past and Future”, a concept that will accompany the entire season and highlight the importance of dialogue as a means of cultural exchange and international cooperation.

Dante Alighieri Monaco: the 2026–2027 season opens with a focus on health

The first event is scheduled for Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 6:30 pm at A Casa d’i Soci – La Maison des Associations, 2 bis Promenade Honoré II, Monaco.

Admission is free, and the evening will feature Dr Paolo Di Muro, nutritional educator and Cellular Medicine nutraceutical consultant, who will address a fundamental question: “Is health really the first duty of life?”

The meeting will also present Di Muro’s book, “Un piatto di salute”, published by the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale – Cardiocentro Ticino, where the author worked for twenty years in the Preventive and Rehabilitation Cardiology Department.

The event will focus on the relationship between nutrition, prevention and wellbeing, offering an opportunity to explore the importance of health education and scientific knowledge in contemporary society.

The event is held under the Patronage of the Embassy of Italy in the Principality of Monaco.

“Italy in Dialogue Between Past and Future”: the theme of the new cultural season

Following the opening event dedicated to health, the Dante Alighieri Monaco programme will continue with a broad range of cultural events.

Conferences, theatre performances, round tables, film screenings, meetings with authors and experts, and musical events will explore an Italy that remains firmly rooted in its heritage while engaging with the challenges and transformations of the present.

The concept of dialogue lies at the heart of the season: dialogue between tradition and innovation, art and science, memory and the future, and, above all, between Italy and the Principality of Monaco.

October 14, 2026 – Ballet and Artificial Intelligence

The programme continues on October 14 with “Ballet and Artificial Intelligence – Coppél-i.A.”, an event organised in collaboration with Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and AI Monaco.

The evening will explore the relationship between dance, creativity and artificial intelligence, inspired by the ballet Coppélia and the myth of Pygmalion.

The event will be moderated and hosted by Geoffroy Staquet, dramaturge of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo, and Leonardo Fabbri, founder of AI Laboratory Monaco and a member of the Dante Alighieri – Monaco Committee.

October 19, 2026 – Dialogue, the Word that Builds the Future

On October 19, the programme will feature “Dialogue, the Word that Builds the Future”, organised in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in the Principality of Monaco as part of the 26th Week of the Italian Language in the World.

The evening will explore the importance of words and dialogue as essential tools for building relationships, culture and peaceful coexistence, with the participation of renowned Italian writer and journalist Massimo Gramellini.

November 9, 2026 – Parole / Note Live

On November 9, “Parole / Note Live – Quello che siamo” will bring together poetry, music and images in an emotional artistic journey.

The performance will celebrate the power of words and the richness of the Italian language through a dialogue between different forms of artistic expression.

November 18, 2026 – La Pazza Gioia

Italian cinema takes centre stage on November 18 with a screening of “La Pazza Gioia”, one of the most significant films of contemporary Italian cinema.

The evening will provide an opportunity to reflect on themes including vulnerability, freedom and solidarity. The event was conceived and promoted by Dante Alighieri member Roberta Apicella, who will moderate the discussion following the screening.

Dante Alighieri takes centre stage in December

On December 10, 2026, Dante will return to the heart of the programme with the conference “From National Symbol to Pop Icon: The Uses and Abuses of Dante in the 20th and 21st Centuries.”

Professor Fulvio Conti will examine the evolution of Dante Alighieri’s image in contemporary culture, exploring how the poet has been reinterpreted and represented throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.

The event is particularly significant for Dante Alighieri Monaco, reaffirming the association’s commitment to promoting and reinterpreting Italy’s cultural heritage for contemporary audiences.

January 2027: an evening with Eleonora Abbagnato

The new year will begin on January 13, 2027, with a screening of the documentary “Eleonora Abbagnato – Una stella che danza”.

The event will pay tribute to one of the most acclaimed Italian dancers on the international stage, celebrating her artistic career and her experience of cultural exchange.

A special guest will make the evening even more memorable: Eleonora Abbagnato herself will attend the event.

February 2027: Italian music from Vivaldi to a universal heritage

On February 5, 2027, the programme will turn to the world of music with “A River of Music – Antonio Vivaldi and the Rediscovery of a Universal Heritage.”

The conference, presented by Myriam Zerbi, will be held to mark the 80th anniversary of the Istituto Italiano Antonio Vivaldi in Venice and will explore the value of Italy’s musical heritage and its enduring relevance today.

March 8, 2027: Clelia Durazzo, pioneer of Italian botany

For International Women’s Day, on March 8, 2027, Dante Alighieri Monaco will dedicate an event to Clelia Durazzo, a pioneering figure in Italian botany.

The conference, entitled “Clelia Durazzo: A Pioneer of Italian Botany”, will be presented by Maria Tavano, Curator of the “G. Doria” Civic Museum of Natural History in Genoa.

The event will highlight the life and work of an important figure in the history of science and explore the contribution of women to research, botany and biodiversity conservation.

Dantedì 2027: Dante and Beatrice on stage

On March 25, 2027, for Dantedì, the cultural season will present “Not Even a Kiss… Dante and Beatrice.”

The theatrical performance, with dramaturgy by Jean-Marie Rainaud and Giovanna Alberto Maragliano Caranza, will feature Oreste Valente and Raffaella Tomellini.

The production will offer a contemporary interpretation of the relationship between Dante and Beatrice, using theatre and music to revisit one of the most enduring stories in Italian literature.

April 2027: Fendi and the Made in Italy tradition

On April 12, 2027, the spotlight will turn to one of the most recognisable symbols of Italian excellence worldwide: Fendi.

The meeting with Maria Teresa Venturini Fendi will explore creativity, entrepreneurship and Made in Italy, examining the international appeal of a model that combines craftsmanship, innovation and design culture.

The event fits naturally into the season’s central theme, highlighting Italy’s ability to preserve its heritage while constantly evolving and looking towards the future.

May 2027: music brings the season to a close

The cultural programme will conclude with a classical music concert organised in collaboration with the Fondazione Lelio Luttazzi.

The event is scheduled for May 2027, on May 19, 20 or 21, with the final date still to be confirmed.

The concert will bring to a close a season designed to showcase Italy through a wide range of cultural languages and to strengthen the role of culture as a tool for dialogue, exchange and international cooperation.
