BIOT – For four days, Biot will celebrate one of the most cherished events in its local tradition. From Friday, August 21 to Monday, August 24, the village will come alive for the Fête patronale de la Saint-Julien, the traditional festival dedicated to Saint Julian, bringing residents and visitors together in a spirit of community and Provençal culture.

The event is one of the highlights of Biot’s summer and offers an opportunity to rediscover the identity of the village through music, folklore, religious ceremonies and moments of conviviality.

Four days of celebration in the heart of Biot

Throughout the Saint-Julien festival, the village streets and squares will be filled with events celebrating local traditions.

The programme includes aubades, traditional musical performances, as well as traditional dances and music, Provençal games and other events that have long been part of this popular village celebration.

The atmosphere will be that of a traditional village festival, with Biot’s streets becoming a meeting place for residents and visitors and activities designed to bring together different generations.

Procession and Mass for Saint Julian

Alongside the more festive events, Saint-Julien retains a strong religious dimension.

The procession dedicated to the patron saint and the Mass in honour of Saint Julian are among the most significant moments of the celebration. They highlight Biot’s strong connection with its history and provide an opportunity to preserve traditions and rituals for future generations.

Tradition and collective memory

The Saint-Julien festival is more than a summer event. For Biot, it is an important moment of collective memory, when local traditions once again become part of everyday community life.

Music, dancing, games and religious celebrations come together to tell the story of a community deeply attached to its roots and to Provence’s cultural heritage.

From August 21 to 24, Biot will therefore offer four days dedicated to celebration and tradition, providing residents and visitors with the opportunity to experience the village in a special atmosphere, surrounded by music, folklore and religious ceremonies.
