Road safety remains one of the Principality of Monaco’s top priorities, especially during the summer season, when the vibrant nightlife attracts thousands of residents and visitors. Against this backdrop, Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) and Be Safe Monaco, the association dedicated to preventing drunk driving founded by Camille Gottlieb, have renewed their partnership for the third consecutive year.

The collaboration is designed with a clear objective: to provide a safe alternative for anyone who, after an evening out in Monaco, realizes they are not fit to drive.

The agreement was signed by Stéphane Valeri, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SBM, and Camille Gottlieb, President of Be Safe Monaco. Under the renewed partnership, SBM will provide professional drivers to operate the electric shuttle vehicles donated to the association, ensuring the continuity of this free nighttime transportation service.

Free Night Shuttle Service for a Safe Journey Home

The service operates from July 1 to August 31, every Wednesday through Sunday, between midnight and 5:30 a.m.

The electric shuttles allow customers leaving Monaco’s restaurants, bars, clubs, and entertainment venues to return home free of charge whenever they believe they have consumed alcohol beyond the legal driving limit and choose the responsible option of not getting behind the wheel.

The initiative provides a practical solution to help reduce alcohol-related road accidents while encouraging responsible behavior, particularly among young people.

The results achieved over the past two years highlight the success of the program. A total of 741 people have already been driven home safely, including 355 in 2024 and 386 in 2025.

These figures demonstrate the growing use of the service and the positive impact of the partnership between Monaco’s leading hospitality and leisure group and an association committed to raising awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol.

A Partnership That Promotes Social Responsibility

The collaboration between Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer and Be Safe Monaco stands as a strong example of corporate social responsibility in action. While SBM provides operational support and qualified personnel, Be Safe Monaco continues its awareness and prevention campaigns, promoting a culture of road safety throughout the Principality.

Their shared mission is simple yet essential: to reduce road accidents, protect both residents and visitors, and make Monaco’s nightlife safer for everyone.
