After four months of renovation work, La Rascasse has officially reopened its doors in the Principality of Monaco, unveiling a completely new concept that combines elegance, sport, and entertainment. The historic venue on Monaco’s port, a symbol of Monegasque nightlife and an iconic point of the Formula 1 Grand Prix street circuit, has now been transformed into a refined Sports Bar with a strong automotive identity.

For those who live in or frequently visit Monaco, the name “Rascasse” does not refer to the famous scorpionfish, but rather to one of the most emblematic places on Port Hercule, located right on the famous tight corner crossed every year by the Monaco Grand Prix cars. A strategic location that has made this venue a true institution in the social life of the Principality.

A redesign celebrating the world of racing

The new face of La Rascasse is a clear tribute to motorsport and Formula 1. The renovation, carried out by the Public Works and Building Heritage Department of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, has completely redesigned the interiors, creating a sophisticated yet highly distinctive atmosphere.

One of the most striking features is the ceiling decorated with car engines and mechanical parts, while the checkerboard floor immediately recalls the starting line of racing competitions. Red and white dominate the environment, reflecting the iconic colors of motorsport.

The walls tell the story of racing through vintage competition photographs, while on a podium visitors can admire helmets and racing suits from famous drivers, including that of Monegasque Formula 1 star Charles Leclerc, a true sporting symbol of the Principality.

From fishermen’s hut to Monaco nightlife icon

The history of La Rascasse dates back more than seventy years, when it originally served as a simple fishermen’s shelter. Over time, the venue became one of Monaco’s most important social landmarks, eventually joining the prestigious restaurant and bar collection of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer in 2011.

Over the years, La Rascasse has strengthened its reputation as an essential destination for residents, tourists, and lovers of the Monegasque lifestyle, especially during the major international events that animate the Principality.

A new experience: afterwork, sports, and live music

With the reopening, the venue has also redefined its customer experience. From 5:30 PM, La Rascasse welcomes guests for afterwork drinks, both indoors and on the terrace overlooking the port, with special cocktail prices on weekdays until 10:00 PM and on Saturdays from 7:00 PM.

From Thursday to Saturday, La Rascasse offers live music performances by selected bands, followed by DJ sets starting at 11:00 PM. A format designed for an international audience looking for entertainment and an exclusive atmosphere.

There is also strong attention to the sporting side: the most important matches and sporting events are broadcast live on screens, reinforcing the venue’s identity as a meeting place for sports fans and major competitions.

Signature cocktails inspired by Formula 1

The new cocktail menu is one of the venue’s most distinctive features, with drinks specially created to evoke the world of motor racing.

Among the most popular options are the Rascasse Paddock, made with Lost Explorer Mezcal, crème de cassis, lemon, and ginger beer; the Pit Stop, based on Neft Vodka infused with tonka bean, Frangelico, and coffee; and the Pole Position, combining Havana 3 Years Rum, melon liqueur, Cointreau, lemon, pineapple juice, and orgeat syrup.

To accompany the drinks, guests can enjoy a selection of gourmet finger foods designed for sharing, along with signature desserts including the elegant Finger Signature Casque N°16, shortbread biscuits with a caramel center coated in milk chocolate.

Opening hours and the only drawback

La Rascasse is open from Tuesday to Saturday with extended late-night hours: from 5:30 PM to 3:00 AM Tuesday to Thursday, until 4:00 AM on Friday, and from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM on Saturday.

The only downside remains its Sunday and Monday closure, a choice that may disappoint both tourists and residents who often stay in the Principality on Sundays and would have appreciated extending the Monaco weekend experience a little longer.

Despite this, La Rascasse’s reopening once again confirms its central role in Monaco nightlife, now stronger than ever thanks to a renewed identity that blends style, sport, and tradition.
