Under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, the Musée d’Anthropologie préhistorique, founded by Prince Prince Albert Ier, presents its new temporary exhibition “Magies d’ailleurs”, an evocative journey into the symbolic worlds of magic, rituals and ancestral beliefs.
Open daily from December 15, 2025 to December 15, 2026, from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, the exhibition invites visitors to discover ritual practices from civilizations distant in both time and space. Objects, historical records and curatorial narratives guide the audience through a compelling story that highlights the role of magic as a force of protection, power and social cohesion. Among the themes explored are African rituals in which blood applied to the face symbolizes spiritual strength and the safeguarding of the community.
The exhibition is designed to be accessible to a wide audience. Admission is priced at €5, with a reduced rate of €2.50 for students and free entry for children under the age of 10. Free admission is also granted to several categories, including holders of a Monegasque identity card, AMP members, SPELEOCLUB and ICOM members, people with disabilities, certified tour guides and international journalists.
For visitors seeking a deeper experience, guided tours are available by reservation (mediationMAP@gouv.mc), at a cost of €10 for participants over the age of 10 and €5 for children aged 5 to 10. Children under 5 may join free of charge.
With “Magies d’ailleurs”, the Museum reaffirms its commitment to making anthropological knowledge accessible and engaging, offering a cultural experience that captivates visitors of all ages in the heart of Monaco.
