The Monegasque Judo Federation is pleased to organize on Sunday, December 7, 2025, the 30th edition of the Monaco International Judo Tournament (TIJM) – Gérard Bertrand Trophy, a benchmark event in senior men’s team judo (7 fighters per team).
The Gaston Médecin Hall will welcome more than 100 international judokas representing France, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Ukraine, and Monaco.
Absent from last year’s competition, the Japanese make their big return for this 30th edition. Coming from Tokyo, the Nittai Judo Club fighters include the Koga brothers, Hayato and Genki, sons of the late Olympic champion Toshihiko Koga, along with promising young talents eager to shine on the Rock.
The Monegasque team will feature Marvin Gadeau, selected for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (+100kg). Alongside him will be accomplished judokas such as Matthieu Pettiti (-81kg) and Abdesalem Khiri (-66kg), both medalists for Monaco at the 2025 Games of the Small States. Also present in the Monegasque ranks is Aleksa Mitrovic, French junior champion and bronze medalist at the 2022 Junior World Championships, competing in -90kg.
On the French side, the IJ team (Institut du Judo – Paris) will stand among the favorites. A strong delegation from the southern half of the country is also expected: the 17th RGP Montauban, Judo Club Venelles (Pro League), Jita Kyo Ei (Montpellier – university team), Judo Vaucluse – Grand Avignon, Nice Métropole, Olympique Judo Montpellier, and the Nouvelle Aquitaine League.
The show promises once again to be thrilling, with a team format highly appreciated by the public for its intensity and dramatic turnarounds. Each team is composed of seven fighters (-60kg, -66kg, -73kg, -81kg, -90kg, -100kg, and +100kg). Four victories are required to win a match. Teams will be divided into pools (each team will fight at least 3 matches), and the winners of each pool will compete in the semifinals.
We would be delighted to welcome you to this event.
