Thanks to the heavy snowfall of recent days — with accumulations between 40 and 50 centimeters at the base — and the snowmaking operations made possible by investments from the Syndicat Mixte des Stations Nice Côte d’Azur, Isola 2000 is preparing to launch the winter season a week ahead of schedule.

The resort will exceptionally open on the weekend of Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November 2025, giving early enthusiasts the opportunity to return to the slopes sooner than expected. The decision was welcomed by Mayor Mylène Agnelli, who described it as a “wonderful pre-opening,” adding that “conditions are optimal.” The advance opening will also allow mountain professionals to test facilities and services ahead of the continuous opening planned for December 6, the same day the season will begin in Auron.

In Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée, Mayor Colette Fabron confirms the production of 260,000 m³ of artificial snow, while grooming machines are preparing trails for all levels. La Colmiane may also open during the same weekend, further expanding the local offering.

Access to the Tinée Valley: ongoing works and monitored traffic

Road conditions remain closely monitored following the landslides caused by last week’s severe weather. Safety work is underway on the Tinée road: on the RM2206, between La Courbaisse (Tournefort) and Pont-de-Clans, alternating one-way traffic has been implemented with three daily opening windows (7–8, 12–13 and 16–17), with exceptions on holidays.

At all other times, traffic is diverted through Massoins and Villars-sur-Var. The Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur states that teams are “fully mobilized” to restore circulation as widely and quickly as possible, while ensuring maximum safety. The works, initially planned to last two weeks, may accelerate depending on how the construction site evolves.
