The Principality of Monaco takes another important step toward inclusive urban mobility.
On October 23, 2025, the government officially launched Street Nav, a new mobile application designed to make it easier for people with reduced mobility to navigate the streets of Monaco.
Born from the observation that the Principality’s complex geography can pose a challenge for those with motor impairments, Street Nav is the result of a joint effort between the Department of Social Affairs and Health, the Interministerial Delegation for Digital Transition, and associations representing people with disabilities.
The goal is clear: to make urban routes more understandable, safer, and accessible for everyone, regardless of their disability.
Unlike traditional navigation systems, Street Nav provides customized itineraries based on the user’s specific needs.
The app takes into account key accessibility factors such as stairs, slopes, elevators, construction areas, and real-time walkability.
This innovative approach turns technology into a tool for independence, improving the daily lives of residents, workers, and visitors alike.
“Street Nav reflects our commitment to the Handipact policy, aimed at the inclusion of all people with disabilities,” said Christophe Robino, Minister of Social Affairs and Health.
“This application will enable users with reduced mobility to move around Monaco with greater freedom and confidence.”
Across Europe, Monaco joins the ranks of best practices in accessible mobility.
In France, projects such as Accèslibre and Streetco combine open data with real-time user feedback, while in Italy, initiatives like WeGlad and Kimap take a more community-driven approach.
Street Nav stands out for its strong institutional leadership and its ambition to create a single integrated platform for inclusive mobility.
If it succeeds in combining official data, user contributions, and urban service interoperability, the Principality could soon become a European benchmark for accessible city mobility.
With Street Nav, Monaco once again demonstrates its ability to combine innovation, social inclusion, and quality of life.
A concrete ally for everyday life, this app supports the vision of a modern, intelligent, and compassionate city, where everyone can live and move freely.
