The Dante Alighieri Committee of the Principality of Monaco, under the High Patronage of H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover, in collaboration with the Alliance Française de Monaco,
presents, on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 8 p.m., at the Maison de France (42 rue Grimaldi),
the musical event “La Gioconda: The Secrets of Love…” / “La Joconde amoureuse.”
This musical play, performed in French and Italian, is inspired by Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa, one of the most famous portraits in the world.
The dramaturgy is by Jean–Marie Rainaud, and the direction and production are by Giovanna Alberto Maragliano Caranza.
The performance will feature Italian and French actors:
Raffaella Tomellini (La Gioconda),
Oreste Valente (Leonardo da Vinci),
Sabrina Paillé (La Joconde),
Cédric Garoyan (Léonard de Vinci).
Music and singing by:
Christina Collier (soprano),
Blagovest Georgiev (classical guitar).
The play draws inspiration from the refined and enigmatic beauty radiating from this timeless masterpiece.
“Leonardo would never part with the portrait of the Gioconda, which embodies an unusual feminine beauty and, beyond the woman herself, beauty in its purest form.
As for the model, a paint stain on her corset will spark his imagination, leading him to develop extreme, even mad hypotheses… reflections that evoke today’s artificial intelligence…”
