From September 29 to October 4, Nice once again becomes the stage for dialogue between the written page and the language of moving images. The seventh edition of Cinéroman lights up the city with a program weaving together competition, premieres, encounters with authors, and special screenings.
The jury will be presided over by Sandrine Kiberlain, joined by a panel of artists and writers: Vassili Schneider, Justine Lévy, Alice Taglioni, Sayyid El Alami, Pierre Deladonchamps, and Danièle Thompson, a longstanding presence since the festival’s very first edition, founded by Daniel and Nathalie Benoin.
At the Pathé Gare du Sud, audiences will discover major literary adaptations, ranging from intimate dramas to animation:
Dalloway by Yann Gozlan, with Cécile de France, inspired by Les Fleurs de l’ombre by Tatiana de Rosnay.
Répondeur by Fabienne Godet, based on the novel by Luc Blanvillain.
L’attachement by Carine Tardieu, with Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and Pio Marmaï.
Ma Mère, Dieu et Sylvie Vartan by Ken Scott, from the autobiography of Roland Perez.
La Cache by Michel Blanc, adapted from Christophe Boltanski’s novel.
Connemara by Alex Lutz, from the book by Nicolas Mathieu.
La Chambre de Mariana by Emmanuel Finkiel, inspired by Aharon Appelfeld.
Ce qu’il faut de la nuit by the Coulin sisters, from Laurent Petitmangin’s novel.
And, for the first time in competition, an animated film: Métaphysique des tubes by Amélie Nothomb.
Cinéroman is not just about competition: the program also includes eagerly awaited premieres, such as T’as pas changé by Jérôme Commandeur with Vanessa Paradis, La Bonne Étoile by Pascal Elbé, Qui brille au combat by Joséphine Japy, Le gang des Amazones by Melissa Drigeard, La femme la plus riche du monde by Thierry Klifa with Isabelle Huppert, and Furcy, né libre by Abd Al Malik with Romain Duris.
New this year, the Rialto cinema joins the festival’s venues, hosting cult films such as Dead Poets Society and the highly anticipated international premiere of Chronology of Water starring Kristen Stewart.
The festival also features masterclasses, documentaries, and conversations: from Lumière, l’aventure continue, presented by Thierry Frémaux, General Delegate of the Cannes Film Festival, to new works such as D’un monde à l’autre by Jérémie Renier and Les Rêveurs by Isabelle Carré.
👉 Cinéroman 2025 reaffirms its mission: to transform Nice, for one week, into a unique crossroads where cinema gives voice to books and literature finds new life on the big screen.
