For those who love walking and exploring at a leisurely pace, Nice offers a unique experience: Lou Camin Nissart, a circular route entirely walkable on foot, stretching for over 40 kilometres within the municipal territory and linking the hills that frame the city.

The result of four years of environmental research and care, this itinerary was created by the Comité Départemental Olympique et Sportif des Alpes-Maritimes with the support of the city administration. The loop starts from the Promenade du Paillon, passes through some of Nice’s most scenic spots — from the port to Mont Alban, Monte Vinaigrier, Saint Pancrace and Saint Roman Bellet — before descending to Magnan and finishing on the Promenade des Anglais.

Key features

  • Total elevation gain of nearly 1,000 metres

  • Spectacular sea and mountain views

  • Passages through urban and departmental parks

  • Connections with public transport for an easy return to the city

The main route covers 42 km and 195 metres, but with the marked variations it reaches 60 km of trails. An extension to the Pyramide de Falicon is also under consideration, to bring the route to 42.5 km and make way for a Marathon pédestre des collines niçoises.

Lou Camin Nissart is more than a trail: it’s an invitation to experience Nice sustainably, exploring its hills, landscapes and natural heritage at a walking pace.
