Nice is turning into an open-air stage with “Estate in Scena”, the new initiative launched as part of Mon été à Nice 2025, promoted by the City Council to bring art and creativity into the city’s public spaces.
Every evening from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., three symbolic locations — the Promenade du Paillon (at the Essling statue), the Quai des États-Unis (near the “3 Palmiers”), and the Parvis of Gare du Sud — host open street performances. A symbolic circle on the ground marks the space for each show.
Inspired by cultural capitals like London and New York, the project aims to make art more accessible while encouraging a convivial and respectful use of the urban landscape.
“Through this initiative, we want to bring public space to life in a creative way, offering artists real visibility and an opportunity for expression,” said Mayor Christian Estrosi, emphasizing the city’s commitment to cultural vitality and community involvement.
At the end of the summer, a special jury will select the most outstanding performers — the so-called “coup de cœur” — who will be invited to join the AnimaNice cultural programme starting this autumn.
With “Estate in Scena,” Nice confirms its artistic vocation and invites residents and visitors to enjoy a summer of discovery, creativity, and spontaneous beauty through the magic of live performance.
