Cannes is gearing up for an unprecedented sports event: five days of pure energy, talent, and passion for skateboarding.
From April 9 to 13, 2025, the Skatepark de la Roseraie, nestled between the iconic Croisette and the stunning Estérel massif, will host the opening stage of the French Skateboard Bowl Cup: the Cannes Bowl Fest.
This event marks a new milestone for the city, which is increasingly becoming a hub for urban sports. Organized by the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Roller and Skateboard Committee, in collaboration with the City of Cannes, the Azur Skateboard club, and many local partners, the festival is part of the “Cannes, Capital of Outdoor Sports” program.
“Cannes is proud to host this major urban sports event,” says Mayor David Lisnard. “Our skatepark offers a state-of-the-art infrastructure in a breathtaking setting—perfect for thrilling both athletes and spectators.”
Over five action-packed days, top French and international skaters will compete across three categories:
Under 17
Over 17 (men and women)
Over 40 (Open)
Skaters to watch include:
🏅 Vincent Matheron, captain of France’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic team
🏅 Emilie Alexandre, selected for Paris 2024
🏅 Nathan Matheron, French champion 2024
🏅 Kristen Billon, 2023 title holder
But the Cannes Bowl Fest is more than a competition—it’s a celebration of street culture. Visitors can enjoy:
🎨 Creative workshops led by artist Laurent Inne
🛹 Free skateboard try-outs
🎶 Live music performances
🎭 Street culture activities for all ages, in a festive and inclusive atmosphere
Inaugurated in October 2023, the Roseraie Skatepark has quickly become a regional reference point for board sports.
Covering 1,250 square meters, it features three bowls of different depths (1.50 m – 1.80 m – 2.50 m) and a one-of-a-kind structure in France: the cradle, a 5-meter-high inverted half-sphere designed to push skateboarding limits.
