A wonderful atmosphere at the Espace Leo Ferré in the Principality of Monaco, with a distinguished audience made up of Italians, Monegasques, and others, who filled all the available seats.
The event took place on Tuesday, December 3, and was organized by the Com.It.Es. of Monaco, chaired by Ezio Greggio. This event has become a tradition during the holiday season, leading up to Christmas and New Year’s. For the Italian community residing in the Principality, it is an occasion for the traditional exchange of festive greetings.
After the performance of the national anthems of Monaco and Italy, Ezio Greggio and Maurizio DiMaggio from Radio Monte Carlo warmly welcomed everyone present, including the authorities.
An important moment that President Greggio further highlighted by calling on stage the new Italian Ambassador to Monaco, H.E. Manuela Ruosi, who thanked everyone for the invitation and, while wishing everyone well, reminded the audience that Christmas is a great celebration of unity, and this initiative by Com.It.Es. in the Principality of Monaco strengthens the Italian community.
The members of Com.It.Es. then took the stage, receiving applause from the audience.
This year, the awards ceremony for young Italian athletes living in the Principality was held, with each of them being called up to receive recognition for their outstanding achievements in their respective disciplines.
And then, music, with the performance of famous Christmas carols by the ISM Choir, consisting of twenty-one girls and one boy, conducted by Maestro Colette Nielsen.
The Sanremo Symphony Orchestra performed with thirty-four musicians, under the direction of Maestro Giancarlo Di Lorenzo, who proudly recalled the founding of the prestigious Sanremo musical ensemble 120 years ago, on January 14.
Peppe Voltarelli, an artist from the Tenco Club, who has accompanied the orchestra on a successful tour for the past two years, gave voice to the songs and stories related to Domenico Modugno.
The concert provided wonderful emotions through thirteen great hits of the unforgettable Italian artist, including “Tu Si Na Cosa Grande,” “Vecchio Frac,” and “Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu.” It was a captivating journey through Modugno’s entire artistic career, starting from the 1950s. The audience was enthusiastic, offering prolonged applause for these immortal songs, which are dear to everyone’s heart and reflect a piece of Italy’s life.
A well-deserved success for the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra and great satisfaction for Com.It.Es. of Monaco, which once again dedicated its efforts to organizing the Christmas Concert, always with free admission.
Com.It.Es. thanks the Embassy of Italy in the Principality of Monaco for its patronage and the Espace Leo Ferré and the Direction de l’Aménagement urbain of Monaco for their collaboration.
