5th Maxence Larrieu International Flute Competition

Celebrating Maxence Larrieu’s 90th birthday.
October 25th will be dedicated to the 90th birthday celebration of the eminent flutist and competition’s namesake, Maxence Larrieu. The association “À Travers La flûte” will organize concerts, lectures, and a Gala Concert, bringing together his loved ones, former students, and members of the jury around their honorary president.

“Sweet Days of Discipline” is an exhibition that brings together the 44 artists who graduated from Villa Arson in 2023. It is organized by the editors (Alice Dusapin, Martin Laborde, and Baptiste Pinteaux) of the art magazine octopus notes.
“How did you feel a year after leaving school? What was your life like? What do 44 newly graduated artists have in common?” To help us answer these questions, we asked some artists whose practices clearly resonate with those featured in the exhibition.

Exhibition – Jànluc Sauvaigo – The 36 Views of Mont Chauve
From 05/16 to 11/30/2024, every day.
Between 2004 and 2010, Jànluc Sauvaigo illustrated a series of sketches of the “Popular History of Nissan,” set on Mont Chauve, giving birth to the 36 views of Mont Chauve.
The first map is inspired by the Japanese painter Hiroshige, and for the others, Jànluc Sauvaigo evokes Hokusai and his famous Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji. The author will say, “I wanted to celebrate in my own way a magical place in the country. And in Nice, Mont Chauve was obvious. It is visible from the Paillon and Var basins, almost everywhere.”

Exhibition – Agapé. The Love That Changes the World

The emblematic hill of the Château hosts a monumental exhibition by Italian artist Andrea Roggi.
Three works, including two new pieces, “Love, the Future of the World” and “The Future is Us,” will be set against the natural backdrop of the Château Hill and the Bay of Angels. The exhibition is inspired by the Greek concept of love, with imposing bronze sculptures representing nature and seamlessly blending into the environment of Nice.

Exhibition – The Fullness of Emptiness – Bamboo Art in Japan

This exhibition explores the world of bamboo in Japan, a cultural ensemble that unites the archipelago’s history, art, and its relationship with China.
Visitors will discover contemporary creations and then understand the roots of an ancient tradition in a story articulated around three major lineages of artists.
Exhibition Jean Mas in Shadow and Cube

L’Artistique returns with the restoration of the Ferrero Donation Collection and invites Jean Mas for a temporary exhibition.
In 1986, Jean Ferrero proposed to Jean Mas an exhibition titled “The Cubing of the Nice School,” where various artists from the Nice School were represented as cubes. The following year, Jean Mas created 100 painted shadows that he exhibited on Boulevard du Midi in Cannes. These two installations will be revisited at L’Artistique.

Since 2005, the Nice improv theater league, Counta BlaBla, has been presenting its improvisation show “Jivéjigo”, where audience interaction drives the evening!

Maurice Maubert is from Nice. He is a child of Old Nice, close to the Palais Lascaris. The Mediterranean occupies a special place in his artistic approach.
In this exhibition, the artist invites us to reconnect with our common heritage, the sea. “Aquela Mar,” the title given to the exhibition, means “This sea” in Nice.
This exhibition is divided into three parts for an in-depth artistic exploration.
