We often say, “I believe that…”; for example, “I believe I left my jacket at school.” But is that really the right word? Is rigorous thinking, particularly the kind that is activated in the practice of philosophy, of the same order as the spontaneous thinking that accompanies us in our daily lives? Or is it something else? Together, we will discover what thinking truly is and see that it is far from spontaneous and requires great effort on our part.

An international painter, Gianne de Genevraye paints public gardens in Europe, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States. A contemporary nature artist, she exhibits extensively and her works are part of prestigious collections.
In this third Menton exhibition on the theme of the castle (alluding to the bastion), the common thread of this new exhibition of Jean Cocteau’s works will approach the universe of the prince of poets’ shows: theater, music hall, and pantomime… This will be an opportunity to present the “sacred monsters” who were close to him: Jean Marais, Edith Piaf, Berthe Bovy, Suzy Solidor… Fascinated by the circus since childhood, Cocteau never stopped reinterpreting this magic in his work. The exhibition, curated by Dominique Marny, will be designed by Frédéric Beauclair.
