The 5th Edition of Menton’s Sea Days

For its fifth edition, the Sea Days return to Menton on the Esplanade des Sablettes with three days full of activities, games, boat trips, and some exciting new features, all focused on the conservation of marine biodiversity.

Organized by the French Riviera Community, the Sea Days are an event entirely dedicated to protecting the marine environment. The French Riviera coast, with its extraordinary biodiversity, is a protected area. The marine area known as “Cap Martin” is part of the European Natura 2000 network, established to preserve sites of high environmental value.

The 16 kilometers of coastline are home to underwater fauna and flora of immense heritage value. Among the most notable species are the Posidonia meadows, the bottlenose dolphin, the long-spined sea urchin, the fan mussel, and the loggerhead turtle.

During these three days, environmental experts, associations, and local partners will take turns showcasing the incredible variety of animal and plant species found along our coasts. They will also promote best practices at sea and along the shoreline, explaining how to protect and act for their preservation.

Friday, September 20: Awareness day reserved for schools.

Saturday, September 21

• 14:00-20:00: Game stands and educational workshops. Biodiversity rally for children aged 6 to 12.

Activities:

• 10:00: Beach cleanup as part of World Clean Up Day, organized by the city of Menton.
• 10:00-18:00: Sailing trips with whale watching on board the “Santo Sospir” (by reservation).
• 14:00-16:00: Nautical activities (kayaking, kayak polo, and paddleboarding).
• 14:00-17:00: Snorkeling trip (by reservation).
• 14:00-20:00: Boat trips on traditional vessels.
• 16:30-18:30: Sea excursion on board the “Étoile de Menton” to discover the Cap Martin Marine Protected Area (by reservation).
• 18:00: Conference on Latin sails and traditional Mediterranean boats.
• 20:00: Outdoor film screening.

Sunday, September 22

• 10:00-13:00: Game stands and educational workshops.

Activities:

• 8:00-16:00: Sailing trips with whale watching on board the “Santo Sospir” (by reservation).
• 9:00-11:00: Sea excursion on board the “Étoile de Menton” to discover the Cap Martin Marine Protected Area (by reservation).
• 9:00-12:00: Snorkeling trip (by reservation).
• 10:00-14:00: Boat trips on traditional vessels.
