On the occasion of the meeting of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, held from June 10 to 14, 2024, Mr. Florian Botto, First Secretary of Monaco’s Permanent Mission to the UN, reaffirmed the Principality’s full commitment to the protection of the ocean and its resources, the fight against the effects of climate change, and science.
Monaco is the first European state to have ratified the Agreement on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biodiversity last May, thereby demonstrating its full commitment to a future where the oceans are adequately protected.
The Principality will host the Blue Economy and Finance Forum on June 7 and 8, 2025, on the eve of the 3rd United Nations Conference on the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goal dedicated to the oceans.
