Paris 2024 Olympic Flame Relay in the Principality on June 18

On June 18th, Monaco will be one of the prestigious stops on the route of the Olympic Flame for the second time in its history; the first passage took place in 1968, on the occasion of the Winter Olympics in Grenoble.

The Flame will be carried by six torchbearers who will travel, between 2:15 PM and 2:45 PM, the following route: starting from the sculpture of Juan Manuel FANGIO at the beginning of boulevard Albert I, ascending avenue du Port against the traffic, crossing avenue de la Porte Neuve at Place d’Armes, ascending the Rampe Major, arriving at Place du Palais and proceeding to the podium set up in front of the honor gate of the Princely Palace.

The population is invited to come in large numbers to witness and greet the passage of the Olympic Flame, an exceptional event in the Principality.

What impacts on the city and transport on that day?

VEHICLE TRAFFIC The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM:

• Avenue de la Quarantaine, between its No. 13 and avenue du Port.
• Avenue du Port.
• Tunnel de Serravalle.
• Place d’Armes.
• Rue des Açores.
• Rue de Millo.
• Rue Saige.
• Rue Terrazzani.
• Avenue de la Porte Neuve.
• Avenue des Pins.
• Place de la Visitation.
• Rue Philibert Florence.
• Rue des Remparts.
• Place du Palais.
• Rue Colonel Bellando de Castro.
• Avenue Saint-Martin.

Regarding the south of the Condamine district, access to Rue de Millo, Rue des Açores, and Rue Saige will allow exit from the market parking lot at Place d’Armes as well as the Condamine parking lot.

PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC Pedestrians will not be able to:

• Access the Rampe Major between 1:00 PM and 2:45 PM;
• Walk inside the zones of the route delimited by barriers;
• Use the pedestrian crossings located along this route, especially the one at the bottom of avenue de la Porte Neuve between 2:00 PM and 2:45 PM.

Filter points will be set up along the entire route of the Flame, as well as on the outskirts of Place du Palais to ensure the security of the event.

VEHICLE PARKING The following roads will be closed to parking from Monday, June 17th at 11:00 PM to Tuesday, June 18th at 4:00 PM:

• Quai Antoine Ier.
• Avenue de la Quarantaine.
• Avenue du Port.
• Rue des Açores.
• Rue de Millo.
• Rue Saige.
• Rue Terrazzani.
• Avenue des Pins.
• Rue Philibert Florence.
• Rue des Remparts.
• Rue Colonel Bellando de Castro.
• Avenue Saint-Martin.

ACCESS TO PUBLIC PARKING LOTS Between 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM, motorists will be able to access the parking lots of Quai Antoine Ier, de la Digue, and Chemin des Pêcheurs by following this route: Quai Antoine Ier > Esplanade des Pêcheurs > Tunnel de la Digue, avenue de la Quarantaine. Access to Quai Antoine Ier will remain free and operational:

• From the Fontvieille district through the tunnel Rocher Antoine Ier;
• From the northeast of Monaco via Route de la Piscine.

Exits from these parking lots will follow the reverse routes.

MONACO ON CHARGING STATIONS Only the electric vehicle charging station located on avenue de la Quarantaine will be closed.

CAM URBAN BUS TRAFFIC Due to the event, in addition to the aforementioned road closures, the bus stops at Place d’Armes will not be accessible between 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM, except for the «Place d’Armes Charles III» stop. Consequently, the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco informs of the following deviations:

Lines 1 and 2:

• From Monaco-Ville, the buses will serve the «Place d’Armes Charles III» stop and then follow the circular route Canton enterré > avenue de Fontvieille > avenue Albert II > tunnel under the Rocher > boulevard Albert I, to join bd Albert I and their usual route.
• From Saint-Roman or Jardin Exotique, the buses will also serve the «Place d’Armes Charles III» stop before taking avenue de la Porte Neuve. Note: access to and from Monaco-Ville will be completely suspended to avoid disturbing the passage of the Flame, between 2:05 PM and 2:45 PM.

Lines 3 and 4:

• Outbound: service not impacted.
• Return: after stopping at «Place d’Armes Charles III», the buses will turn around at the circular route Canton enterré and then follow the route avenue de Fontvieille > avenue Albert II > Tunnel under the Rocher > terminus «Fontvieille – Shopping Center».

Line 5: Service not impacted.

Lines 6 and X3:

• Outbound: service not impacted.
• Return: after passing through rue Grimaldi, the buses will serve «Place d’Armes Charles III», then follow the route Canton enterré > avenue de Fontvieille > avenue Albert II > Tunnel under the Rocher > terminus «Fontvieille – Shopping Center».

Line X4:

• Outbound: service not impacted.
• Return: the buses will follow the route Dorsale > avenue de Fontvieille > avenue Albert II > Tunnel under the Rocher > terminus «Fontvieille – Shopping Center».

Lines X1 and X2: Service not impacted.

On-Demand Transport «ClicBus Monaco»: service not impacted.

MONABIKE BIKE-SHARING SERVICE The MonaBike electric bike-sharing stations located at Place d’Armes and Place du Palais will be neutralized between 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM.

ZOU! INTERURBAN BUS TRAFFIC Between 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM, two lines of the South Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region bus network will be impacted as follows:

Line 600:

• Direction Monaco > Menton: the stops «Place d’Armes – Tunnel Serravalle» and «Princesse Antoinette» will not be served; a temporary stop will be set up in front of the «Place d’Armes» stop towards Nice; a pickup/drop-off will be made at the «Pont Sainte-Dévote» stop.
• Direction Nice: service not impacted.

Line 80:

• Direction Monaco > Menton: the «Princesse Antoinette» stop will not be served and drop-off will be made at «Pont Sainte-Dévote».
• Direction Nice: service not impacted.
