The Principality Government is pleased with the vote that took place on February 22, 2024, in the National Council, for the law establishing maternity leave for self-employed workers affiliated with the Health, Accident, and Maternity Insurance Fund for Self-Employed Workers (hereinafter referred to as “CAMTI”). The present elected officials unanimously voted for this text, without amendments, just three months after its submission by the Government. The purpose of this law is to grant self-employed workers a right that has long been enjoyed by private sector employees and state and municipal officials.<\/p>\n
The introduction of this provision is the result of collaborative work between self-employed workers sitting on the Control Committee of CAMTI, representatives of the Government, and the Social Security Funds of Monaco. The goal is to continue improving the benefits offered to all workers and thus contribute to the emergence of a more balanced society that protects the rights of everyone.<\/p>\n
Mr. Christophe ROBINO, Government Counselor-Minister of Social Affairs and Health, applauds this new reform, emphasizing that it “will further strengthen the Principality’s social protection system.” He adds that “this provision will simultaneously be an additional tool for socio-economic attractiveness in a key sector for the country’s economy and competitiveness.”<\/p>\n
This text marks the latest milestone, to date, in the modern and ambitious policy conducted by the Government in the social and employment field, following other recent measures such as the establishment of a family allowance system in CAMTI, the ability to donate leave days among colleagues, and the extension of maternity and paternity leaves for the benefit of public and private sector workers.<\/p>\n
The Government remains committed to this comprehensive project with the aim of presenting, soon under the guidance of the Department of Social Affairs and Health, a new text establishing parental leave for private sector employees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
