MAF Photo Exhibition: They Are.<\/h4>\n

The 2023 program of the Galerie d’art contemporain concludes with a photo exhibition on the work of photographer Maf in a retirement home and in a institute and service for the employment of disabled adults.<\/p>\n

Discover the committed perspective of a photographer on humanity, the perspective of these men and women on themselves after several months of work at Foyer de la Madeleine in Nice in 2021 and then at ESATITUDE in Menton in 2023.<\/p>\n

Surrounding the ancient Palace of the Princes of Monaco, the garden of Palais de Carnol\u00e8s boasts a collection of 137 varieties of citrus approved as a National Collection by the Conservatoire des Collections V\u00e9g\u00e9tales sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

“Don’t leave me”, “Non rien de rien”, “Marie” are songs that accompanied my life’s journey. When the night took hold of my anxieties, my soul rocked to the rhythm of the songs of Edith, Jacques, and Johnny.<\/p>\n

Closing my eyes, my imagination opened its doors, turning me into “Jeff” “Milord” in love with “Gabrielle”. This exhibition is a thank you, a tribute to what they gave me. Thanks to \u00c9dith, Jacques, and Johnny. Bernard Laboureau.<\/p>\n

Exhibition: I Stay with You<\/h4>\n

On the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the death of Jean Cocteau, the museum that he himself conceived as a testimony to his art is returning to its historical setting.<\/p>\n

Jean Cocteau died on October 11, 1963, leaving behind a work as rich as it is incredibly varied. The question of his posterity and the future of his art was one of the artist’s main concerns in his last years of life, and Menton provided the solution by offering him the Bastion to set up his museum.<\/p>\n

In this showcase, decorated by Cocteau himself, he wanted to exhibit some of the most emblematic works of his dazzling career: colorful pastels, monumental tapestries, surprising paintings, and bold ceramics make up the original collection of this true testament museum… Not to mention the famous series of “Lovers,” drawings that perfectly embody the artist’s Mediterranean inspiration.<\/p>\n

Sixty years after the death of the Prince of Poets, the Mus\u00e9e Jean Cocteau-le Bastion has returned to exhibit its historical work, paying a vibrant tribute to its guardian artist, taking to heart the words he wanted engraved on his tombstone: “Je reste avec vous” (“I stay with you”).<\/p>\n
