From <strong>October 29, 2026 to July 25, 2027<\/strong>, Monaco will host major works from the repertoire, new creations, contemporary reinterpretations, international companies and renowned choreographers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The programme, curated by director and choreographer <strong>Jean-Christophe Maillot<\/strong>, brings together the three institutions that make up Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo: the Company, the <strong>Monaco Dance Forum<\/strong> and the <strong>Acad\u00e9mie Princesse Grace<\/strong>. The calendar will bring dance to Monaco\u2019s leading venues, as well as beyond traditional theatres, with initiatives dedicated to young audiences, education and the dialogue between different artistic disciplines.<\/p>\n<h2>Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo open the season with Rom\u00e9o et Juliette<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The 2026-2027 season of Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will open at the <strong>Salle Garnier of the Op\u00e9ra de Monte-Carlo<\/strong>, from <strong>October 29 to November 1, 2026<\/strong>, with <em>Rom\u00e9o et Juliette<\/em> by Jean-Christophe Maillot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The production celebrates its <strong>30th anniversary<\/strong> this year and is one of the company\u2019s best-known works. Performed more than 400 times around the world and taken up by 16 international companies, the ballet offers an original reinterpretation of Shakespeare\u2019s tragedy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The story unfolds through the flashback of <strong>Fr\u00e8re Laurent<\/strong>, haunted by remorse and by the question of how such a tragedy could have occurred.<\/p>\n<h2>Bronia and Altro Canto at the Grimaldi Forum<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">From <strong>December 19 to 21, 2026<\/strong>, the Salle des Princes at the <strong>Grimaldi Forum Monaco<\/strong> will host an evening featuring two works.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The programme includes <em>Bronia<\/em>, created by <strong>Mattia Russo and Antonio de Rosa<\/strong> of the Kor\u2019sia company, as a tribute to <strong>Bronislava Nijinska<\/strong>, alongside <em>Altro Canto<\/em> by Jean-Christophe Maillot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Created in 2006 to Claudio Monteverdi\u2019s <em>Magnificat<\/em>, <em>Altro Canto<\/em> also stands out for its costumes designed by fashion icon <strong>Karl Lagerfeld<\/strong>, adding a strong visual dimension to the choreography.<\/p>\n<h2>Ma Bayad\u00e8re returns to Monaco for the New Year<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">One of the highlights of the 2026-2027 season will be the return of <em>Ma Bayad\u00e8re<\/em> by Jean-Christophe Maillot, presented at the Salle des Princes from <strong>December 28, 2026 to January 2, 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The production sold out during the previous season and achieved international success. The ballet takes audiences behind the scenes of a dance company, creating a continuous interplay between reality and fiction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">For these performances, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will be accompanied by the <strong>Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra<\/strong>, conducted by <strong>Garrett Keast<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Soir\u00e9e Bart\u00f3k: two world premieres for spring 2027<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The major spring event will be the <strong>Soir\u00e9e Bart\u00f3k<\/strong>, taking place from <strong>April 27 to 30 and on May 2, 2027<\/strong>, at the Salle des Princes of the Grimaldi Forum.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The evening will feature two world premieres inspired by the music of Hungarian composer <strong>B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k<\/strong>: a new version of <em>Le Mandarin merveilleux<\/em> by Jean-Christophe Maillot and <em>Le Prince de bois<\/em> by <strong>Alexei Ratmansky<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The <strong>Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra<\/strong> will be conducted by <strong>Elias Grandy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Maillot\u2019s new version of <em>Le Mandarin merveilleux<\/em> marks his return to a work he first explored in 1987. Ratmansky, meanwhile, returns to Monaco following the presentation of <em>Wartime Elegy<\/em> in 2025, with a new creation inspired by Bart\u00f3k\u2019s <em>The Wooden Prince<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>Monaco Dance Forum 2027: international dance and new artistic languages<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">From <strong>April 22 to 26, 2027<\/strong>, the <strong>Monaco Dance Forum<\/strong> will bring international artists, companies and choreographers to the Principality.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The programme will open on <strong>April 22 at the Salle Garnier<\/strong> with <em>Songs of the Bulbul<\/em> by <strong>Aakash Odedra<\/strong>, a production combining Indian Kathak dance with Sufi mythology.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">On <strong>April 23<\/strong>, at the Salle Camille Blanc of the Grimaldi Forum, audiences will discover <em>Lever les Yeux<\/em>, an inclusive dance project created by <strong>C\u00e9cile Martinez and Compagnie 6eSens<\/strong>. The performance will bring together Monegasque dancers with disabilities and professional dancers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">On <strong>April 24<\/strong>, at the Salle Garnier, the <strong>WINNDance collective<\/strong> will present <em>Scirocco<\/em>, a double bill featuring <em>Death in Venice<\/em> and <em>Bridge of Sighs<\/em>, performed by former international soloists and \u00e9toiles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">On <strong>April 26<\/strong>, also at the Salle Garnier, <strong>Israel Galv\u00e1n<\/strong> will perform <em>La Consagracion de la Primavera<\/em>, bringing flamenco into dialogue with Igor Stravinsky\u2019s <em>The Rite of Spring<\/em>, accompanied by two pianists.<\/p>\n<h2>Dance comes to Place du Palais for the Jeux des Petits \u00c9tats d\u2019Europe<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">On <strong>May 17, 2027<\/strong>, dance will leave the traditional theatre setting and move to <strong>Place du Palais<\/strong> for the opening ceremony of the second edition of the <strong>Jeux des Petits \u00c9tats d\u2019Europe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Jean-Christophe Maillot has been appointed artistic director of the ceremony and has entrusted the <strong>Ballets de Monte-Carlo\u2019s Cellule p\u00e9dagogique<\/strong> with the creation of a performance as part of the <em>Chor\u00e9-Voix<\/em> project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The initiative aims to involve younger audiences as well, reinforcing the company\u2019s commitment to dance education and accessibility.<\/p>\n<h2>Acad\u00e9mie Princesse Grace: the annual Gala<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The 2026-2027 season will also include one of the most important events for the training of young dancers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">On <strong>June 18 and 19, 2027<\/strong>, at the Salle Garnier, the <strong>Acad\u00e9mie Princesse Grace<\/strong> will present its traditional <strong>end-of-year Gala<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The event will be particularly significant for graduating students preparing to join international dance companies.<\/p>\n<h2>La M\u00e9g\u00e8re apprivois\u00e9e comes to the Salle Garnier<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">From <strong>June 24 to 27, 2027<\/strong>, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will present <em>La M\u00e9g\u00e8re apprivois\u00e9e<\/em> by Jean-Christophe Maillot at the Salle Garnier for the first time.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Inspired by <strong>William Shakespeare\u2019s<\/strong> comedy and set to music by <strong>Dmitri Shostakovich<\/strong>, the ballet tells the story of the encounter between Katharina and Petruchio through Maillot\u2019s distinctive choreographic language.<\/p>\n<h2>See You and Violin Concerto: two choreographic languages in dialogue<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">From <strong>July 8 to 11, 2027<\/strong>, the Salle Garnier will host an evening bringing together <em>See You<\/em> by <strong>Paul Lightfoot<\/strong> and <em>Violin Concerto<\/em> by <strong>George Balanchine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><em>See You<\/em> was first presented in Monaco in 2025, while <em>Violin Concerto<\/em> has been part of the Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo repertoire since 1986. The two works, different in period and choreographic language, reflect the company\u2019s commitment to maintaining a diverse repertoire spanning contemporary and neoclassical dance.<\/p>\n<h2>Cendrillon closes the 2026-2027 season<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The season will conclude with one of Jean-Christophe Maillot\u2019s most iconic productions: <em>Cendrillon<\/em>, presented at the Salle Garnier from <strong>July 22 to 25, 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Maillot\u2019s reinterpretation of <strong>Charles Perrault\u2019s<\/strong> fairy tale, set to the music of <strong>Sergei Prokofiev<\/strong>, entered the Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo repertoire in 1999 and has become one of the company\u2019s most recognisable productions, performed on major international stages.<\/p>\n<h2>Impr\u00e9vus, Workshops and Pas Crois\u00e9s: additional events throughout the season<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Alongside the main productions, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo will offer a series of events designed to provide audiences with a closer look at dance and its leading artists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The <strong>Impr\u00e9vus<\/strong> will offer performances for a limited audience directly inside the dance studio at the Atelier. The <strong>Workshops<\/strong> will provide an opportunity to explore the choreographic worlds connected to the season\u2019s productions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The <strong>Pas Crois\u00e9s<\/strong> programme will bring dance into the spaces of the <strong>Mus\u00e9e National Marc Chagall<\/strong>, creating a dialogue between visual arts and movement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The season will also include a screening organised in partnership with the <strong>Institut Audiovisuel Monaco<\/strong>, featuring Stanley Donen\u2019s <em>Funny Face<\/em>, starring <strong>Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>The On danse? project for children and teachers<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Particular attention will also be devoted to education through the <strong>Ballets de Monte-Carlo\u2019s Cellule \u00e9ducative<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The new <em>On danse?<\/em> initiative will involve <strong>40 children participating in extracurricular activities, two CM classes and 30 teachers in training<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The project confirms the company\u2019s role not only as an artistic institution, but also as a centre for education and the promotion of dance among younger generations.<\/p>\n<h2>Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo on international tour<\/h2>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The 2026-2027 season will extend beyond the Principality.
