From the famous Larvotto Beach to the small Plage des P\u00eacheurs, here are the best places to go to the beach in the Principality.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When people think of Monaco, the first images that often come to mind are Monte-Carlo, the Casino, yachts moored in Port Hercule and grand luxury hotels. But the Principality also has a distinctly seaside character. Along just a few kilometres of coastline, it offers public beaches, private beach clubs and small access points to the sea, with options to suit very different tastes.<\/p>\n

Larvotto, Monaco\u2019s Iconic Beach<\/h2>\n

Larvotto Beach is undoubtedly the Principality\u2019s best-known beach. It is located in the eastern part of Monaco, along Avenue Princesse Grace, and is the heart of Monegasque beach life.<\/p>\n

Completely renovated in recent years, Larvotto is more than just a beach: it is a genuine seaside district. The promenade features restaurants, terraces and activities open throughout the year, while several private areas are located alongside the public beach.<\/p>\n

It is probably the best choice for those who want to spend an entire day by the sea without giving up services or the opportunity to stop for lunch, enjoy an aperitif or take a stroll along the waterfront.<\/p>\n

Larvotto also has a lesser-known feature: since 1976, the area has been home to an underwater reserve. The public beach is also equipped with facilities designed to improve accessibility for people with reduced mobility.<\/p>\n

Plage des P\u00eacheurs, the Hidden Corner<\/h2>\n

Quite different is Plage des P\u00eacheurs, a small cove located beneath the Rock, between the Oceanographic Museum and the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Fort Antoine.<\/p>\n

It is a narrow stretch of small pebbles, much more secluded than Larvotto and mainly frequented by those who know Monaco well. The Principality\u2019s official tourism website describes it as a particularly pleasant spot when the sea is calm.<\/p>\n

Its location, nestled between the rock and the Mediterranean, gives it a unique atmosphere that feels surprisingly far removed from the glamorous image of Monte-Carlo.<\/p>\n

Solarium Beach, a Swim Near Port Hercule<\/h2>\n

Solarium Beach offers a distinctly urban alternative. Located on the breakwater of the Avant Port, it is an artificial multi-level area where visitors can sunbathe and, when sea conditions allow, access the water.<\/p>\n

It is therefore not a traditional beach like Larvotto, but it offers an original way to enjoy the Mediterranean practically in the heart of the city, just a short distance from Port Hercule.<\/p>\n

The Sea and Water Quality<\/h2>\n

Monaco\u2019s relationship with the Mediterranean also involves particular attention to the quality of the marine environment.<\/p>\n

The Principality\u2019s Department of the Environment monitors coastal waters and, during the bathing season, health checks are carried out at the Larvotto, Solarium and P\u00eacheurs bathing sites.<\/p>\n

Which Beach Should You Choose?<\/h2>\n

For first-time visitors to Monaco, Larvotto remains the most complete choice<\/strong>. It can easily be incorporated into a day exploring the Principality and allows you to combine swimming, dining and waterfront walks.<\/p>\n

Plage des P\u00eacheurs<\/strong>, on the other hand, is ideal for those looking for a more unusual and lesser-known spot, while Solarium<\/strong> can be a good option for a quick sunbathing break or a swim during a day spent around Port Hercule, La Condamine and Monaco-Ville.<\/p>\n

Three different ways of experiencing the sea reveal a side of the Principality that is sometimes overshadowed by the glamour of Monte-Carlo: that of a small Mediterranean city deeply connected to its coastline.<\/p>\n
