The Sovereign Prince of Monaco has officially inaugurated the exhibition \u201cPreserving the Mediterranean: RAMOGE, a Pioneering Agreement for 50 Years\u201d<\/strong>, held in the hall of the Ministry of State from June 29 to October 30, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is jointly organized by the National Archives of Monaco<\/strong> and the RAMOGE Executive Secretariat<\/strong>, in partnership with the Prince\u2019s Palace Archives<\/strong> and the Audiovisual Institute of Monaco<\/strong>. It celebrates 50 years of environmental cooperation between Monaco, France, and Italy.<\/p>\n

RAMOGE: a pioneering agreement for Mediterranean protection<\/h2>\n

Signed on May 10, 1976<\/strong>, in the Throne Room of the Prince\u2019s Palace at the initiative of Prince Rainier III, the RAMOGE Agreement is a landmark in Monaco\u2019s contemporary diplomatic history.<\/p>\n

It brings together France, Monaco, and Italy<\/strong> in a shared commitment to protect the marine environment and coastline of the Mediterranean region, originally covering the area between Saint-Rapha\u00ebl and Genoa, later expanded from the Rh\u00f4ne estuary to the Magra River.<\/p>\n

For five decades, RAMOGE has served as a pioneering model of trilateral cooperation, carrying out concrete actions in marine biodiversity protection, pollution control, and environmental awareness. It remains the only Mediterranean agreement combining anti-pollution measures with biodiversity conservation.<\/p>\n

A historical exhibition combining archives, science, and diplomacy<\/h2>\n

The exhibition retraces the origins, evolution, and key achievements of the RAMOGE Agreement through archival documents, photographs, educational content, testimonies, and audiovisual materials.<\/p>\n
