Nice is preparing for a summer filled with culture and entertainment thanks to an extensive program of free events that will transform the city into a vast open-air stage. Among the highlights of the 2026 edition of \u201cMon \u00c9t\u00e9 \u00e0 Nice\u201d is the return of outdoor cinema, featuring more than twenty free screenings spread across city neighborhoods and the port area.<\/p>\n
The initiative is part of a broader summer program promoted by the city, offering more than 250 free events in around 40 locations, including the historic center, the seafront and residential districts. The schedule is designed for both local residents and the many tourists who choose the French Riviera for their summer holidays.<\/p>\n
From June 19 to August 26, 2026, squares, parks, gardens and public spaces throughout Nice will host a major outdoor film festival. All screenings will begin at 9:30 p.m. and admission will be free, subject to available seating.<\/p>\n
The project aims to bring cinema closer to residents and visitors while showcasing some of the city\u2019s most iconic locations and encouraging community gatherings during the summer season.<\/p>\n
The program includes films for all audiences, ranging from international blockbusters and animated features to arthouse productions and timeless classics.<\/p>\n
One of the most anticipated attractions is a series of four special screenings organized by the Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que de Nice at Quai de la Douane, one of the most scenic locations in the city\u2019s port.<\/p>\n
On July 22, Alfred Hitchcock\u2019s classic To Catch a Thief<\/em> will be screened to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the marriage between Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III of Monaco.<\/p>\n On July 29, audiences can enjoy Howard Hawks\u2019 Gentlemen Prefer Blondes<\/em>, marking the centenary of Marilyn Monroe\u2019s birth.<\/p>\n The series will continue on August 19 with Persepolis<\/em> by Marjane Satrapi and conclude on August 26 with That Man from Rio<\/em> by Philippe de Broca, a tribute to legendary French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo.<\/p>\n The outdoor cinema program will travel throughout the city with a selection of popular and family-friendly films.<\/p>\n Among the highlights are:<\/p>\n The lineup also includes contemporary productions and animated films, offering entertainment for audiences of all ages.<\/p>\n Outdoor cinema is only one part of Nice\u2019s extensive summer calendar.<\/p>\n From July 23 to 25, the renowned Nice Jazz Festival will return, welcoming internationally acclaimed artists and thousands of spectators from across Europe.<\/p>\n From July 21 to August 9, classical music lovers can enjoy Nice Classic Live, a series of concerts and recitals staged in some of the city\u2019s most picturesque venues.<\/p>\n The program will also feature opera performances, exhibitions and a wide range of cultural initiatives throughout the city.<\/p>\n With more than two months of free events combining cinema, music, performing arts and culture, Nice continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the Mediterranean\u2019s leading summer destinations.
