These topics were at the center of the first meeting of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee for the national strategy, held on May 7, 2026 under the presidency of Minister of State <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Christophe Mirmand.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"716\" data-end=\"958\">The meeting provided an opportunity to review the progress achieved by Monaco\u2019s authorities and public services following the adoption of the Principality\u2019s third progress report during the latest plenary session of the FATF held in February.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"srjmge\" data-start=\"960\" data-end=\"1001\">Monaco aims to exit the FATF grey list<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1003\" data-end=\"1224\">During the meeting, the Minister of State highlighted the efforts undertaken to strengthen Monaco\u2019s financial oversight system and align the Principality with the highest international standards in financial transparency.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1226\" data-end=\"1435\">Special attention was given to the next steps concerning Monaco\u2019s fourth progress report and the strategic objective of exiting the FATF grey list, which includes jurisdictions subject to increased monitoring.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1437\" data-end=\"1650\">The Monegasque Government also reaffirmed the importance of maintaining close cooperation between institutions, financial operators and regulatory authorities in order to consolidate the progress already achieved.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"14pl5yb\" data-start=\"1652\" data-end=\"1696\">Legislative reforms and stricter controls<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1698\" data-end=\"1745\">Among the main measures currently underway are:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1746\" data-end=\"2044\">\n<li data-section-id=\"1sekt9o\" data-start=\"1746\" data-end=\"1815\">a comprehensive review of the legislative and regulatory framework;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"fy8oqi\" data-start=\"1816\" data-end=\"1861\">stronger anti-money laundering regulations;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"17s11mp\" data-start=\"1862\" data-end=\"1910\">enhanced controls against terrorist financing;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"qne714\" data-start=\"1911\" data-end=\"1988\">risk monitoring linked to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction;<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1oyylat\" data-start=\"1989\" data-end=\"2044\">improved collection and analysis of statistical data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"2046\" data-end=\"2221\">Authorities are also working on Monaco\u2019s third national risk assessment, considered a key tool for identifying vulnerabilities and strengthening financial prevention measures.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"12x5501\" data-start=\"2223\" data-end=\"2275\">Institutional continuity and political transition<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2277\" data-end=\"2454\">During the meeting, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Christophe Mirmand thanked <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Pierre-Andr\u00e9 Chiappori for his commitment and contribution to the Principality\u2019s reform process.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2456\" data-end=\"2657\">At the same time, he welcomed his successor, <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Cottalorda, emphasizing the importance of political and administrative continuity in pursuing Monaco\u2019s international commitments.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"14oqqk0\" data-start=\"2659\" data-end=\"2701\">Monaco prepares for MONEYVAL evaluation<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2703\" data-end=\"2947\">Beyond the FATF process, the Principality is also preparing for its future evaluation by <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">MONEYVAL, the Council of Europe body responsible for assessing anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing measures.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2949\" data-end=\"3190\">According to the Monegasque Government, the progress already acknowledged by international organizations represents an important step toward strengthening Monaco\u2019s financial reputation and ensuring long-term compliance with global standards.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3192\" data-end=\"3434\">The Minister of State concluded by stressing the importance of maintaining strong collective commitment among institutions and economic stakeholders to successfully complete the reform process and reinforce Monaco\u2019s international credibility.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Principality of Monaco is continuing to strengthen its national strategy against money laundering, terrorist financing, the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and corruption.
