From March 5 to 8, 2026<\/strong>, the Principality of Monaco<\/strong> will host the 42nd edition of the Primo Cup \u2013 Troph\u00e9e UBS<\/strong>, one of the most anticipated one-design sailing competitions in the Mediterranean<\/strong>. The event will bring together more than 350 sailors from nine countries<\/strong>, ready to compete in Monaco\u2019s waters during four days of high-level racing.<\/p>\n

The event is organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco<\/strong> in partnership with UBS<\/strong>, with the support of the Mairie de Monaco<\/strong> and the technical partnership of North Sails<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Created in 1985<\/strong> at the initiative of Albert II of Monaco<\/strong>, the Primo Cup has grown into a key event on the international sailing calendar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe welcome crews from all over the world who come to test themselves in demanding racing conditions. Monaco offers a highly technical environment and a sporting intensity that pushes every team to perform at its best,\u201d said Bernard d\u2019Alessandri<\/strong>, Director and Secretary General of the Yacht Club de Monaco.<\/p>\n

For three days, the J\/70, Smeralda 888, Longtze Premier and Cape 31<\/strong> fleets will compete in a series of intense races.<\/p>\n

For the J\/70 class<\/strong>, the Primo Cup also represents the final stage of the Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series<\/strong>, with the overall title still to be decided. Currently leading the standings is Giangiacomo Serena di Lapigio<\/strong> with the team G-Spot, followed by Pierrik Devic<\/strong> (Fraser Yachts) and Nico Poons<\/strong> (Charisma V), in a particularly tight contest.<\/p>\n

Adding further prestige to this edition is the presence of Dawn Riley<\/strong>, a pioneering figure in international sailing and the first woman to lead a team in the America’s Cup<\/strong>, with three participations in the legendary competition and two in the Whitbread Round the World Race<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Smeralda 888<\/strong>: the fleet of \u201cgentlemen sailors\u201d, chaired by Charles de Bourbon des Deux-Siciles<\/strong>, opening the season with an increasingly competitive level.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The Primo Cup \u2013 Troph\u00e9e UBS<\/strong> once again confirms the Principality of Monaco\u2019s ability to attract top international one-design fleets<\/strong>, offering a sporting stage where performance at sea remains the only true measure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
