In Fontvieille<\/strong>, Avenue des Papalins<\/strong> is undergoing a major redevelopment project<\/strong> aimed at sustainably improving the living environment<\/strong> and user comfort<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As a key thoroughfare of the district<\/strong>, this avenue is used daily by numerous pedestrians<\/strong>. The expansion of the planters<\/strong> will create a continuous landscaped corridor<\/strong> and establish a vegetative buffer<\/strong> between vehicular traffic<\/strong> and pedestrian pathways<\/strong>, thereby enhancing safety<\/strong> and the overall quality of movement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The project includes the creation of 111 m\u00b2 of planted areas<\/strong>, replacing seasonal flower beds<\/strong> with permanent Mediterranean vegetation<\/strong> that will provide staggered flowering throughout the seasons<\/strong>. New magnolia trees<\/strong> will be added to complement the existing trees, alternating with the current citrus trees<\/strong>, in order to structure and harmonize the overall landscape<\/strong>.
Well suited to the local climate<\/strong>, the magnolia<\/strong> helps improve air quality<\/strong> by capturing fine particles<\/strong> and contributes to reducing urban heat islands<\/strong> thanks to the density of its foliage<\/strong>.
All existing trees will be fully preserved<\/strong>, with particular care taken to protect their root systems<\/strong> during the works. The new planters<\/strong> will also make it possible to modernize the irrigation system<\/strong>, thereby optimizing water management<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The project has been designed to preserve existing uses<\/strong>, including the delivery area<\/strong>, short-term parking (drop-off zone)<\/strong>, and bicycle racks<\/strong>, all of which will be maintained<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As part of the works, 32 surface-level two-wheeler parking spaces<\/strong> will be removed. In return, 52 parking spaces<\/strong> will be created within the Papalins car park<\/strong>, including 14 spaces dedicated to electric two-wheelers<\/strong>, increasing the overall parking capacity<\/strong> while freeing up public space<\/strong> for additional green areas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The works are scheduled to continue until early March<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
