Forty years of history, research, and passion: founded in 1985<\/strong>, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo<\/strong> celebrate their landmark anniversary in 2026 with an exceptional season<\/strong>, conceived as a true artistic manifesto. Under the direction of choreographer and artistic director Jean-Christophe Maillot<\/strong>, the company reaffirms its identity: a generous, open, and plural form of dance<\/strong>, deeply contemporary and in constant dialogue with music, technology, and new scenic languages.<\/p>\n

The season opens with Miniatures<\/strong>, a world premiere<\/strong> running from 16 to 19 April 2026<\/strong> at the Salle Garnier<\/strong> of the Op\u00e9ra de Monte-Carlo<\/strong>, co-produced with the Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo<\/strong>. The project brings together international contemporary composers<\/strong>\u2014including Violeta Cruz, Aur\u00e9lien Dumont, Martin Matalon, Misato Mochizuki, Bruno Mantovani, and Ramon Lazkano\u2014and choreographers from the company<\/strong>, resulting in a constellation of short choreographic pieces<\/strong> that interlock like fragments of stories, lives, and destinies. On stage, the Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain<\/strong>, conducted by Bruno Mantovani<\/strong>, accompanies the dancers in a close dialogue between sound and movement.<\/p>\n

From 27 to 29 April<\/strong>, at the Grimaldi Forum<\/strong>, Maillot presents a new version of Core Meu<\/em><\/strong>. Accompanied by Antonio Castrignan\u00f2 & Taranta Sounds<\/strong>, the company performs the extended version of the ballet, already acclaimed in Italy and Cuba, where audiences were invited to join the dancers on stage. On 29 April<\/strong>, an open workshop for all levels<\/strong> offers the opportunity to explore the choreographic universe of Core Meu<\/em> from the inside.<\/p>\n

The month of June<\/strong> is devoted to training and transmission: on 19 and 20 June<\/strong>, at the Salle Garnier, the end-of-year Gala of the Acad\u00e9mie Princesse Grace<\/strong> celebrates the talent of young dancers destined for international careers.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the year will be the 40th Anniversary Gala Evening<\/strong>, taking place on 3 and 4 July<\/strong> at the Grimaldi Forum. A celebratory event with a deliberately undisclosed programme, bringing together artists, choreographers, and musicians<\/strong> who have shaped the history and evolution of the company.<\/p>\n

The summer season continues with Waku Doki<\/strong> (10 and 11 July, Salle Garnier), a new creation by \u00c9ric Oberdorff<\/strong> for the Compagnie Humaine, blending choreographic virtuosity and immersive digital devices<\/strong> into a powerful sensory experience. From 17 to 19 July<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Grimaldi Forum, the Ballet de l\u2019Op\u00e9ra national de Paris<\/strong> takes the stage with La Dame aux Cam\u00e9lias<\/em> by John Neumeier<\/strong>, accompanied by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo<\/strong>, conducted by Vello P\u00e4hn<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Alongside the major productions, the season features Impromptu performances<\/strong>, open workshops<\/strong>, educational initiatives, and site-specific performances in museums<\/strong>, reinforcing the company\u2019s role as a vibrant and inclusive cultural force<\/strong> within the Principality.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo<\/strong> continue their extensive international touring<\/strong>, with performances across Europe and Asia, from Cannes to Madrid<\/strong> and from Riga to Seoul<\/strong>, carrying the excellence of Monegasque dance around the world.<\/p>\n
