The <strong data-start=\"813\" data-end=\"860\">municipal elections on 15 and 22 March 2026<\/strong> will place <strong data-start=\"872\" data-end=\"880\">Nice<\/strong> at the centre of national attention, with a particularly hard-fought contest expected. <strong data-start=\"968\" data-end=\"992\">Nine candidate lists<\/strong> will compete: incumbent mayor <strong data-start=\"1023\" data-end=\"1044\">Christian Estrosi<\/strong>, representing Horizons, will seek re-election, while the opposition will be led by MP <strong data-start=\"1131\" data-end=\"1146\">\u00c9ric Ciotti<\/strong> for the UDR. Nice will host the <strong data-start=\"1436\" data-end=\"1486\">grand finale of the 2026 Tour de France Femmes<\/strong>, welcoming the finish of the eighth stage from Sisteron along the iconic <strong data-start=\"1560\" data-end=\"1578\">Route Napol\u00e9on<\/strong>, followed by the final stage on a demanding urban circuit featuring <strong data-start=\"1647\" data-end=\"1679\">four climbs of the Col d\u2019\u00c8ze<\/strong>. For two days, the world\u2019s elite women cyclists will shine a global spotlight on the city and the wider department, strengthening their sporting and tourist profile.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1847\" data-end=\"2265\">Innovation and environmental transition will also be in focus with <strong data-start=\"1914\" data-end=\"1944\">Nice Boating Tomorrow 2026<\/strong>, a four-day event dedicated to sustainable yachting. Exhibitions on land and at sea, test runs, demonstrations, conferences and round tables will explore the ecological challenges facing a sector that is a cornerstone of coastal economies in France, positioning Nice as a Mediterranean hub for forward-looking solutions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2267\" data-end=\"2650\">On the <strong data-start=\"2274\" data-end=\"2299\">international tourism<\/strong> front, the city will host <strong data-start=\"2326\" data-end=\"2356\">Rendez-Vous en France 2026<\/strong>, Atout France\u2019s flagship trade event.
