After more than a year of closure, the historic railway line linking <strong data-start=\"497\" data-end=\"514\">Nice to Tende<\/strong> reopens, giving travelers access to one of Europe\u2019s most scenic routes and restoring a vital connection for the Roya Valley.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"875\">The renovation works, started after the suspension of service in September 2024, have ensured the safety of the infrastructure and secured continuity for residents, commuters, and sustainable tourism focused on slow, immersive travel.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"877\" data-end=\"1318\">The Train des Merveilles route crosses daring viaducts, deep gorges, and hilltop villages such as <strong data-start=\"975\" data-end=\"1039\">Sospel, Breil-sur-Roya, Fontan, Saorge, La Brigue, and Tende<\/strong>, opening access to the <strong data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1091\">Mercantour National Park<\/strong> and continuing to <strong data-start=\"1110\" data-end=\"1119\">Cuneo<\/strong>. In less than ninety minutes, the landscape transforms from the blue of the Mediterranean to the first snow-capped peaks of the high valleys, offering a particularly enchanting atmosphere in winter.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1320\" data-end=\"1357\">Winter experiences and highlights<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1359\" data-end=\"1639\">From <strong data-start=\"1364\" data-end=\"1396\">February 14 to March 1, 2026<\/strong>, the train departing Nice at <strong data-start=\"1426\" data-end=\"1437\">9:32 AM<\/strong> will feature an <strong data-start=\"1454\" data-end=\"1480\">onboard guide-narrator<\/strong>, accompanying passengers through stories of local history, Alpine landscapes, and railway heritage, turning the journey into an immersive cultural experience.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1641\" data-end=\"2029\">This winter also introduces <strong data-start=\"1669\" data-end=\"1682\">Cast\u00e9rino<\/strong>, accessible via shuttle from Breil-sur-Roya. The service runs on weekends from <strong data-start=\"1762\" data-end=\"1794\">January 10 to March 15, 2026<\/strong>, and daily from <strong data-start=\"1811\" data-end=\"1837\">February 14 to March 1<\/strong>. The combined <strong data-start=\"1852\" data-end=\"1878\">train + shuttle ticket<\/strong> (\u20ac15 adults, \u20ac6.50 children) includes departure from Nice at <strong data-start=\"1940\" data-end=\"1951\">8:32 AM<\/strong>, a free day for snowshoeing and Nordic activities, and return at <strong data-start=\"2017\" data-end=\"2028\">7:03 PM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2031\" data-end=\"2068\">Looking ahead to the next seasons<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2070\" data-end=\"2404\">From <strong data-start=\"2075\" data-end=\"2106\">April 4 to November 1, 2026<\/strong>, the Train des Merveilles will operate on weekends and public holidays in spring and autumn, and daily from June to September.
