The Prince\u2019s Government<\/strong>, on the occasion of the \u201cTobacco-Free Month\u201d<\/strong>, is launching a series of information and prevention initiatives<\/strong> focused on protecting minors<\/strong> and reducing exposure to passive smoking<\/strong>.
This campaign is based on raising awareness about the dangers of tobacco<\/strong> and presenting support services available to the public<\/strong>, following the recent anti-tobacco reform adopted during the summer of 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\ud83d\udd0e Key Facts<\/h2>\n

Tobacco<\/strong> remains a major cause of cancer, cardiovascular, and respiratory diseases<\/strong>.
It is essential to remember that there is no safe level of tobacco exposure<\/strong>, in any form<\/strong>, including secondhand smoke<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On average, smoking initiation occurs between the ages of 15 and 25<\/strong> \u2014 therefore, acting early is crucial<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

For smokers, note that quitting brings rapid benefits<\/strong> \u2014 improved breathing<\/strong>, taste<\/strong>, and smell<\/strong> \u2014 and significantly reduces cardiovascular risks within the first year<\/strong>.
Never starting remains the best protection!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\ud83e\udd1d Getting Help<\/h2>\n

In Monaco<\/strong>, many support services<\/strong> are available and open to everyone.<\/p>\n

The CSAPAM<\/strong> (Centre for Care, Support and Prevention in Addictology<\/em>) \u2013 (+377 98 98 27 97)<\/strong> \u2013 provides free and confidential support<\/strong> for those wishing to quit smoking, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A Youth Consultation (ages 15\u201325)<\/strong> is held every Wednesday<\/strong>, with or without an appointment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The CSAPAM<\/strong> offers evaluation, guidance, personalized support, and adapted treatments<\/strong>, including nicotine replacement therapies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A tobacco specialist<\/strong> also provides free consultations throughout the year<\/strong>, including medical care<\/strong>, nutritional<\/strong>, and psychological support<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Doctors, pharmacists, and psychologists<\/strong> in private practice can also assist in quitting: a simple professional advice significantly increases success rates<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u2696\ufe0f The Anti-Tobacco Law<\/h2>\n

An important milestone<\/strong> was reached on May 15, 2025<\/strong>, with the adoption of a major reform of the law on protection against smoking<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This legislation modernizes and strengthens public protection<\/strong>, particularly for minors<\/strong>, through several key measures:<\/p>\n

    Legal purchase age raised to 18<\/strong> for all tobacco and related products<\/strong>;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
