On 13 October 2025<\/strong>, during an official ceremony in Brussels<\/strong>, the Principality of Monaco<\/strong> and the European Union<\/strong> signed an Amending Protocol<\/strong> to their Agreement on the automatic exchange of information on financial accounts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This update aims to reinforce compliance with international tax obligations<\/strong>, in line with the global standard for information exchange<\/strong> developed by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Andorra, San Marino, and Liechtenstein<\/strong> also signed similar Protocols<\/strong>, revising their respective agreements with the EU.<\/p>\n

The Protocol updates the terms of the existing Agreement<\/strong>, introducing enhanced obligations for financial information reporting<\/strong>, in accordance with the revised international standard adopted by the OECD in 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, Mr. Pierre-Andr\u00e9 CHIAPPORI<\/strong>, Minister of Finance and Economy<\/strong>, reaffirmed Monaco\u2019s steadfast commitment<\/strong> to adhering to the highest global tax standards<\/strong>.
He emphasized that these adjustments are necessary to meet the OECD\u2019s new expectations<\/strong> and to ensure Monaco\u2019s compliance with international transparency and reporting requirements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mr. CHIAPPORI also stressed the importance of cooperation between Monaco and the European Union<\/strong>, recalling that the Principality, while preserving its fiscal sovereignty<\/strong>, continues to actively combat tax fraud and evasion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The amendments will enter into force on 1 January 2026<\/strong>, in line with international objectives<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
