Mrs. Anne-Marie BOISBOUVIER<\/strong>, Ambassador, Permanent Delegate of Monaco to UNESCO, and <strong data-start=\"649\" data-end=\"672\">Mrs. Agatha KORCZAK<\/strong>, First Secretary, distinguished itself through <strong data-start=\"720\" data-end=\"741\">two major actions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"746\" data-end=\"1424\">\n<li data-start=\"746\" data-end=\"957\">\n<p data-start=\"748\" data-end=\"957\"><strong data-start=\"748\" data-end=\"831\">The signing of a concrete mangrove restoration project in S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe<\/strong>, initiated with the <strong data-start=\"852\" data-end=\"873\">support of Monaco<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"879\" data-end=\"914\">praised by Mr. Antonio D. ABREU<\/strong>, Secretary-General of the MaB Programme.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"958\" data-end=\"1424\">\n<p data-start=\"960\" data-end=\"1424\"><strong data-start=\"960\" data-end=\"1041\">The awarding of the \u201cPrince Albert I of Monaco Young Scientists Scholarships\u201d<\/strong>, funded since <strong data-start=\"1056\" data-end=\"1064\">2022<\/strong> to support young researchers working in <strong data-start=\"1105\" data-end=\"1146\">coastal and island biosphere reserves<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1147\" data-end=\"1150\" \/>In <strong data-start=\"1155\" data-end=\"1163\">2025<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1165\" data-end=\"1186\">five scholarships<\/strong> were granted, <strong data-start=\"1201\" data-end=\"1260\">named for the first time after the Monegasque Sovereign<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"1261\" data-end=\"1264\" \/><strong data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1289\">H.E. the Ambassador<\/strong> highlighted <strong data-start=\"1302\" data-end=\"1325\">the positive impact<\/strong> of these grants, which form part of the <strong data-start=\"1366\" data-end=\"1421\">Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1426\" data-end=\"1568\">The <strong data-start=\"1430\" data-end=\"1476\">Hangzhou Strategic Action Plan (2026\u20132035)<\/strong> was <strong data-start=\"1481\" data-end=\"1504\">unanimously adopted<\/strong>, structuring the MaB Programme around <strong data-start=\"1543\" data-end=\"1565\">three main pillars<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"1569\" data-end=\"1697\">\n<li data-start=\"1569\" data-end=\"1602\">\n<p data-start=\"1572\" data-end=\"1602\"><strong data-start=\"1572\" data-end=\"1600\">Multilateral cooperation<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1603\" data-end=\"1655\">\n<p data-start=\"1606\" data-end=\"1655\"><strong data-start=\"1606\" data-end=\"1653\">Expansion of the biosphere reserves network<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1656\" data-end=\"1697\">\n<p data-start=\"1659\" data-end=\"1697\"><strong data-start=\"1659\" data-end=\"1695\">Promotion of scientific research<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"1699\" data-end=\"2055\">This plan had been previously discussed at the <strong data-start=\"1746\" data-end=\"1790\">5th World Congress of Biosphere Reserves<\/strong>, held in <strong data-start=\"1800\" data-end=\"1830\">September 2025 in Hangzhou<\/strong>, marked by the speeches of <strong data-start=\"1858\" data-end=\"1879\">Mr. Xuexiang DING<\/strong>, Chinese Vice Premier, and <strong data-start=\"1907\" data-end=\"1929\">Ms. Audrey AZOULAY<\/strong>, UNESCO Director-General, who both emphasized <strong data-start=\"1976\" data-end=\"2052\">the importance of multilateralism in addressing environmental challenges<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2057\" data-end=\"2307\">Finally, <strong data-start=\"2066\" data-end=\"2095\">26 new biosphere reserves<\/strong> were recognized during this session, including <strong data-start=\"2143\" data-end=\"2192\">the entire territory of S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe<\/strong> \u2014 <strong data-start=\"2195\" data-end=\"2212\">a world first<\/strong>, making it <strong data-start=\"2224\" data-end=\"2304\">the only country whose entire territory is classified as a biosphere reserve<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2309\" data-end=\"2575\">\ud83d\udd17 <strong data-start=\"2312\" data-end=\"2336\">For more information<\/strong>, consult the
